An extruder which can be applied to various types of resin and elastomer without having to replace a die is provided. An extruder of the present inventions has: a barrel to which raw material, that is raw elastomer or raw material resin, is supplied; a screw that is driven to rotate in the barrel in order to process the raw material together with the barrel; and diethat is provided at a discharge point of the barrel and that discharges the raw material that has been processed. Dieincludes first flat platehaving at least one first holeand second flat platehaving at least one second hole, wherein first flat plateand second flat plateare arranged adjacent to each other along longitudinal axis Xof the barrel, and at least either first flat plateor second flat plateis movable relative to the other flat plate such that an overlapping part of first holeand second holecan be varied.

According to the present invention, devolatilization of a synthetic resin formed from a polymer or synthetic rubber can be improved and the synthetic resin can be foamed at a low temperature by injecting a devolatilization agent through a devolatilization agent injection nozzle provided in a downstream end segment cylinder of a cylinder assembly. In a vented twin-screw kneading extrusion apparatus and extrusion method according to the present invention, a devolatilization agent, which is injected through a downstream end devolatilization agent injection nozzle provided on a downstream end segment cylinder constituted by a segment cylinder positioned on a downstream end of a cylinder assembly, is dispersed in molten resin in the downstream end segment cylinder and kneaded by a downstream end kneading portion such that the molten resin is foamed by the devolatilization agent and then extruded.

Vented twin-screw kneading extrusion apparatus and extrusion method

A screw pair includes first and second screws having an outer circumferential surface on which a groove is spirally formed, and transports a raw material in a first direction along each of axis centers. An inner surface of the groove of each of the screws includes a first surface, which faces in the first direction, and in which the outer circumferential surfaces of the screws are formed to coincide with each other without a gap therebetween in the state where the screws mesh with each other, and a second surface, which faces in a second direction opposite to the first direction, and which forms a gap between the outer circumferential surfaces of the screws in the state where the screws mesh with each other.

While resin forming material and hygroscopic wood flour or wood flour containing water, which were fed to the feed port 23 of the intermeshing type two screw type screw side feeder 20, are being conveyed toward the intermeshing type twin screw extruder 1, they are somewhat kneaded and then introduced into the intermeshing type twin screw extruder 1. Resin forming material and hygroscopic wood flour or wood flour containing water, which have been introduced into the intermeshing type twin screw extruder 1, are melted and kneaded by the heat transmitted from the heating cylinder 2 and also by the heat generated in the process of shearing conducted by the rotating screws 3a, 3b. After that, they are extruded from the die 9 in the form of strands. Moisture and gas composed of volatile components generated in the process of melting and kneading are sucked by vacuum from the rear vent 6a arranged on the upstream side of the introducing port 5 and also sucked by vacuum from the vents 6b, 6c arranged on the downstream side of the introducing port 5, so that they can be discharged outside the apparatus.
