A cylinder-shaped flow passage in which a first fluid flows includes an internal cylinder which is smaller in diameter than the flow passage. A swirl-generating stator having four vanes is radially fixed in the internal cylinder. A header space for supplying a second fluid is provided to the outer circumference of a wall surface of the internal cylinder in contact with flow separation areas which are formed along downstream surfaces of the swirl-generating stator as the first fluid runs into the swirl-generating stator. The wall surface of the internal cylinder is formed with openings through which the flow separation areas communicate with the header space. The second fluid supplied into the header space flows through the openings into the flow separation areas, and is diffused along the vanes of the swirl-generating stator to be swirled and mixed into the first fluid applied with swirling force by the swirl-generating stator.

Atomization and vaporization of spray in a fuel supply system is promoted at the time of cold startup and the amount of fuel depositing on the inner wall of the intake manifold is reduced, thereby ensuring improved startability of an internal combustion engine of a car, reduced fuel costs and improved purification of exhaust gas. A very fine groove is formed on a heat transfer surface in a fuel vaporization promoting apparatus, wherein this groove is shaped in such a way that fuel is dispersed by the surface tension of the heat transfer surface and the fuel. This configuration ensures uniform dispersion of fuel on the heat transfer surface and effective promotion of vaporization.

Fuel vaporization promoting apparatus and fuel carburetion accelerator

A diagnostic apparatus for gas mixture supply apparatus and diagnostic method thereof characterized in that, when any trouble has occurred to gas mixture from a gas mixture supply apparatus, it can be identified as an error; and at least engine startup is ensured, continued operation of the engine can be made enabled without any problem which may cause stalling of the engine, and deterioration of exhaust gas can be prevented. The above object can be attained by the present invention comprising a gas mixture state detecting means for detecting the state of gas mixture when gas mixture is supplied from the aforementioned gas mixture supply means during the operation of the aforementioned evaporation means, and evaluation means for evaluating an error of the aforementioned gas mixture supply means based on the result of detection by the aforementioned gas mixture state detecting means.

Diagnostic apparatus for gas mixture supply apparatus and diagnostic method thereof

A valve structure which works easily, does not increase production cost, can reduce dispersion in a side gap by restricting eccentricity and incline of a valve body and can maintain highly accurate injection. An electromagnetic fuel injection valve is required which is easy to manufacture even in a narrow valve structure. A guide portion is provided having one end fixed to an injection valve main body for guiding the valve member. A nozzle guide body constituting a magnetic passage portion to surround a magnetic member connected and fixed to one end of the valve member by the same material is provided. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce dispersion of a side gap constituting the magnetic passage, and it is also possible to stabilize an axial motion of the valve member, whereby high injection accuracy is maintained and an inexpensive injection valve is obtained.

Electromagnetic fuel injection valve

An electromagnetic fuel injector is provided with a first coil having a large rate of change in time of magnetomotive force and a second coil having a smaller rate of change in time of magnetomotive force than the first coil. During a valve opening operation at the time of opening the valve, current is passed through at least the first coil, and then current of a smaller current value than in the opening operation is caused to flow so as to hold the valve open, using the first and second coils.

Fuel injection apparatus, fuel injection method and internal combustion engine

A main passage mounting a throttle valve and an air bypass flow passage for reducing HC emission by promoting atomization of the fuel spray injected from the assembly pipe fuel injector are integrated in a body of an intake air control device arranged upstream of an assembly pipe in a one-piece structure to form a unit. Thereby, the intake air control device can be easily manufactured and easily mounted on and dismounted from the intake air system. The amount of HC emitted during warming-up operation of an internal combustion engine is reduced by efficiently supplying fuel spray injected from an assembly pipe fuel injector at the time of starting and warming-up operations for the internal combustion engine.

Intake air control device and internal combustion engine mounting the same

Atomizing air flowing in an atomizing gas passage is merged with a fuel spray to promote atomization of the fuel, and carrier air flowing in a carrier gas passage is merged with the fuel spray at a further downstream position so as to surround the fuel spray. By doing so, the atomized fuel spray is carried to the downstream side so as to prevent the fuel spray from adhering onto the wall surface. The starting-up performance, fuel consumption and exhaust gas cleaning of an internal combustion engine are improved in this way.

Fuel supply device and internal combustion engine mounting the same

There is required a valve structure which can be easily worked, does not increase a producing cost, can reduce a dispersion in a side gap by restricting an eccentricity and an incline of a valve body and can maintain an injection accuracy high. In particular, there is required an electromagnetic fuel injection valve which is advantageous in view of production even in a narrow valve structure. In the electromagnetic fuel injection valve, at least one guide portion having one end fixed to an injection valve main body and guiding an axial sliding motion of the valve member in the inner portion is provided, and a nozzle guide body constituting a magnetic passage portion formed so as to surround a magnetic member connected and fixed to one end of the valve member by the same material is provided. Accordingly, it is possible to reduce a dispersion of a side gap constituting the magnetic passage, and it is possible to stabilize an axial motion of the valve member, whereby an injection accuracy is maintained high and an inexpensive injection valve is obtained.

A fuel feeding apparatus includes a pressure increasing piston system, in addition to a high pressure fuel pump, for further increasing the fuel pressure at the outlet of the high pressure fuel pump. For this purpose, a first piston provided in a first cylinder is moved in response to the pressure of fuel drawn up from a fuel tank and fed to the high pressure pump by a low pressure fuel feed pump, and a second piston provided in a second cylinder and having a diameter smaller than the diameter of the first piston is connected to the first piston and is moved together with the first piston for pressurizing fuel in the second cylinder communicating with the outlet of the high pressure fuel pump at the time of engine starting, and before the high pressure fuel pump is started. The first and second pistons then are automatically returned to their initial positions, respectively, after high pressure fuel pump is started, while the pressure of the highly pressurized fuel in the high pressure fuel pipe is maintained by a high pressure regulator, by designing the first and second cylinders, including the relative sizes of the respective pistons, so that a possible maximum pressure to which the fuel is increased by the piston system is set to a value lower than a preset high pressure value to be attained by the high pressure fuel pump.

An electromagnetic fuel injection valve comprises a valve body, a valve seat which cooperates with the valve body, a fuel injection port disposed downstream of the valve seat, and a dividing device which serves to divide injection fuel injected from the fuel injection port. The dividing device is formed integrally with a member in which the fuel injection port is formed and includes parallel walls substantially parallel to each other with the fuel injection port interposed therebetween and arcuate walls connected to the parallel walls having a diameter larger than that of the fuel injection port. The walls extend from said member in a direction of an axis of the valve. The dividing device has an outer diameter substantially equal to the largest diameter of the valve seat.
