An inner container including a tube body is provided in an outer container. With this structure, the inside of the outer container is separated into a primary airtight chamber and a sub airtight chamber (upper airtight chamber and lower airtight chamber). A detection circuit is placed in the primary airtight chamber. The detection circuit is a tuning and matching circuit having a transmission and reception coil serving as an NMR detection element and a variable capacitor. An additional member including an additional element such as a capacitor is inserted into the upper airtight chamber, and the additional member is set on a top terminal mounting member and a bottom terminal mounting member. With this structure, the additional element is electrically connected to the detection circuit and a characteristic of the detection circuit is changed.

NMR probe

A specially shaped coil assembly for accurate adjustment of the magic angle is provided to permit accurate adjustment of an angle made between the direction of a static magnetic field and the axis of sample spinning without impairing the resolution of NMR signals. The sample is placed within the external static magnetic field B. The coil assembly is for use in a solid-state NMR apparatus that performs NMR detection while spinning the sample about an axis tilted at the magic angle relative to the external static magnetic field B. The coil assembly comprises a pair of arcuate conductor lines and a pair of straight conductor lines. Each of the arcuate lines has a diameter of 2a. Each of the straight lines has a length of 2L. The diameter 2a and the length 2L are so selected as to satisfy the relationship: 1.91&#x2264;2L/2a&#x2264;2.15.

Coil assembly for accurate adjustment of magic angle in solid-state NMR apparatus and method of adjusting magic angle using such coil assembly

An NMR (nuclear magnetic resonance) detection module (such as an NMR probe) mounted in a vacuum vessel permits a transmit/receive coil to be cooled efficiently and to be placed closer to a sample container. The NMR detection module includes a core module (detection module) () consisting of a refrigerant block () and a transmit/receive coil formed on the inner surface of a detection hole (). A sleeve (cylindrical partition wall) () forming a part of the vacuum vessel is inserted in the detection hole (). A sample tube () is inserted in the sleeve (). The refrigerant block () is connected to a heat exchanger via a support member (). Since it is not necessary to form a bobbin inside the transmit/receive coil, the distance between the coil and the sample can be set small. The coil is entirely surrounded by the refrigerant block.

NMR detection module

A cooled NMR detection probe including a detection coil and an internal structure () mounted in a vacuum vessel () includes a radiation shield assembly (), a connecting member (), and a heat exchanger (). The internal structure () is secured to the vacuum vessel () by a holding member (). If the internal structure shrinks during cooling, the position of an upper portion of the first heat exchanger () hardly varies, thus suppressing displacement of a core module ().

NMR detection probe

A high-resolution solid-state NMR spectrometer which can measure a disklike sample. The spectrometer includes: a stator having an air bearing disposed within the static magnetic field, the rotor being disposed in the stator; and an engaging mechanism mounted in a one-end portion of the rotor and detachably holding a sample holder that holds the disklike sample.

Solid-state NMR spectrometer, sample holder therefor, and method of solid-state NMR spectroscopy

A spectrometer has: Accumulation means to obtain a data set containing N data points, repeating the measurement M times to obtain M spectral data sets or time-domain data sets S(dto dN) to SM (dto dN), and accumulating the M spectral data sets or time-domain data sets. Means for creating sets S(dn) to SM (dn) of the data points contained in the M spectral data sets or time-domain data sets S(dto dN) to SM (dto dN). Correlation computing means for finding correlations. Computing means for finding either the product of an accumulated or anticipated spectrum.

Spectrometer, measuring apparatus, and method of data processing

Method and apparatus for accurately adjusting the magic angle in NMR. The NMR probe has a uniform magnetic field coil assembly disposed to produce a uniform magnetic field H. The uniform magnetic field H is produced by controlling the currents flowing through the uniform magnetic field coil assembly. The vector sum of the external field Band the uniform field H is used to determine a new external magnetic field B'.

Method and apparatus for accurately adjusting magic angle in NMR

A transmit-receive switching circuit is offered which is for use in an NMR spectrometer that employs a solid-state NMR probe using a cooled detection coil. The switching circuit is cryogenically cooled to reduce thermal noise in use. The switching circuit has a first terminal for applying high-power RF pulses sent in from the power amplifier of the NMR spectrometer, a second terminal for sending the RF pulses applied from the first terminal to the NMR detector via crossed-diodes and for receiving and entering a low-power NMR signal detected by the NMR detector, and a third terminal for sending the NMR signal entered from the second terminal toward a preamplifier. Plural stages of shunts are connected to the transmission line connecting the second and third terminals such that one stage of shunt corresponds to a 90&#xb0; phase shift in the RF radiation.

Transmit-receive switching circuit for NMR spectrometer and NMR spectrometer incorporating same

A high-resolution NMR probe is offered which is simple in structure and can be fabricated at low cost. The inside of the probe is maintained in a vacuum to adiabatically isolate the inside from the outside. Liquid helium is sent into a first heat exchanger located immediately close to a measurement portion via the innermost region of a triple tube placed in the vacuum. The helium is evaporated in the exchanger to cool a transmit-receive coil and a variable capacitor. The evaporated helium gas is returned via the outermost region of the triple tube. At this time, a radiation shield placed in the vacuum is cooled by a second heat exchanger placed in the return path.
