It is an object of the invention to enhance the possibility of realizing a required torque in a supercharging region where scavenging occurs in a control apparatus for a supercharged engine. In order to achieve this object, the control apparatus for the supercharged engine according to the invention determines an operation amount of an intake valve driving device from a target in-cylinder air amount that is calculated from a required torque, and determines an operation amount of a throttle from a target intake valve passing air amount that is obtained by adding an amount of air blowing through an interior of a cylinder to the target in-cylinder air amount.

Control apparatus for supercharged engine

A control apparatus for an engine includes a control unit. The engine includes a sensor. The control unit determines whether or not an abnormality has occurred in a calculation function of the control unit on the basis of a comparison result between the control required injection amount and the monitoring required injection amount. The control unit determines whether or not an abnormality has occurred in the calculation function of the control unit without using the comparison result when the comparison result is calculated during a predetermined period. The predetermined period is a period of a delay that occurs between updating of one of respective values of the control rotation speed and the monitoring rotation speed and updating of the other value due to a difference between the first timing and the second timing.

Engine control apparatus

An engine control apparatus is equipped with a fuel injection amount computation unit, a determination process unit, and an engine abnormality process unit. The determination process unit determines, based on a deviation between a command injection amount and a monitoring injection amount, whether or not there is an abnormality in fuel injection control. An injection amount threshold, which is used to make a determination on an abnormality in fuel injection control, is set larger based on a vehicle speed-associated parameter when the vehicle speed-associated parameter is a value corresponding to a case where a vehicle speed is high than when the vehicle speed-associated parameter is a value corresponding to a case where the vehicle speed is low.

An object of this invention is, with respect to a torque-demand-control type controller that subjects two kinds of actuators provided upstream and downstream in an intake passage to coordinated operations based on a requested torque for an internal combustion engine, to enable realization of a pulse-like torque change in a torque decreasing direction that is requested, for example, when performing an upshift operation in an electronically controlled automatic transmission. To achieve this object, according to a controller for an internal combustion engine of this invention, when a pulse component in a torque decreasing direction is included in a requested torque, a second requested torque that does not include the pulse component is generated. In this case, a first actuator provided on the downstream side in the intake passage is operated based on the requested torque. On the other hand, although a second actuator provided on the upstream side in the intake passage is operated based on the requested torque when there is not a valid value of the second requested torque, the second actuator is operated based on the second requested torque when there is a valid value of the second requested torque.

Controller for internal combustion engines

An object of the present invention is to control a supercharge pressure in such a manner as not to interfere with warming-up of an exhaust gas purifying catalyst, in an internal combustion engine with a turbo supercharger. To this end, a control device for an internal combustion engine with a turbo supercharger provided by the present invention makes a determined value of a target supercharge pressure with respect to a same target intake pressure smaller when a request to warm up the exhaust gas purifying catalyst is present, as compared with when the request is absent. Note that the target intake pressure is determined based on a target air amount determined from a requested torque for the internal combustion engine. The present control device operates a throttle based on the target intake pressure and an actual supercharge pressure, and operates a wastegate valve based on the target supercharge pressure.

Control device for internal combustion engine with turbo supercharger

A vehicle integrated control device that can request torque having an appropriate magnitude and change speed to be given to an engine control unit from a drive system manager. A first maximum torque and a second maximum torque are presented to a drive system manager from an engine control unit. The drive system manager refers to the first maximum torque and the second maximum torque which are presented, and determines a request torque to be given to the engine control unit. The first maximum torque is a maximum torque that can be realized when only an operation amount of a throttle is actively changed without actively changing an operation amount of a wastegate valve. The second maximum torque is a maximum torque that can be realized when both the operation amount of the throttle and the operation amount of the wastegate valve are actively changed.

Vehicle integrated control device

The present invention is a proposal relating to cooperative manipulation of an actuator which actively changes a supercharging pressure and a throttle in the case of application of torque demand control to an internal combustion engine with a supercharger. A control device provided by the present invention separately determines a target air quantity for manipulation of the throttle, and a target air quantity for manipulation of the actuator. In more detail, driver required torque which is included in required torque is converted into an air quantity in accordance with a predetermined conversion rule, and the air quantity which is obtained by the conversion is determined by calculation as a reference target air quantity. The reference target air quantity is used as a target air quantity for throttle manipulation, and is also used as a target air quantity for actuator manipulation at a normal time. When a change occurs to the required torque, and the change cannot be realized under the reference target air quantity, a correction target air quantity capable of realizing the change is determined by calculation, and is used as the target air quantity for throttle manipulation.

Control device for internal combustion engine with supercharger

An object of the present invention is to prevent hunting of a throttle in a region in which a throttle upstream pressure and a throttle downstream pressure become substantially equal to each other in an internal combustion engine with a supercharger. For this purpose, a control device for an internal combustion engine with a supercharger provided by the present invention processes a signal of a throttle opening which is calculated by using a formula of throttling when a ratio of the throttle upstream pressure and the throttle downstream pressure has a value close to 1, and controls an operation of the throttle with the throttle opening the change speed of which is lessened as a target throttle opening.

A vehicle control apparatus that inhibits fuel efficiency from being aggravated as a result of ignition timing of the internal combustion engine being retarded. The vehicle control apparatus includes a drive system control unit and an engine control unit. The engine control unit adjusts an amount of intake air based on the demanded torque and adjusts ignition timing so as to compensate for any deviation between torque achievable through an adjustment of the amount of intake air and the demanded torque. The drive system control unit calculates desirable torque to be desirably output to the internal combustion engine for achieving a target operating state of the vehicle, and limits a change rate of the desirable torque by using a predetermined guard value determined from torque adjustment capacity of the internal combustion engine and outputs the desirable torque after the limiting as the demanded torque to the engine control unit.

Vehicle control apparatus that inhibits fuel efficiency from being aggravated as a result of retarding ignition timing

The present invention relates to a control device for a spark-ignition internal combustion engine provided with a cylinder pressure sensor and aims to facilitate optimal control of a combustion state even in a situation where an operating condition is variable. A predetermined combustion-related parameter whose value is uniquely determined by behavior of a change in cylinder pressure relative to a crank angle is used as a control value. Ignition timing is calculated based on the control value in accordance with a calculation rule determined according to a current or target operating condition of the internal combustion engine. The control value resulting from calculation based on a target value of a predetermined physical quantity relating to torque of the internal combustion engine in accordance with a predetermined calculation rule is used as a base value and is corrected by feeding back an output value of the cylinder pressure sensor.

Control device for internal combustion engine

A control apparatus for a supercharged internal combustion engine, which can achieve a target torque accurately even if the target torque contains a high-frequency vibration component. The control apparatus determines a target air quantity and a target boost pressure from a target torque, operates an actuator for air quantity control according to the target air quantity, and operates an actuator for boost pressure control according to the target boost pressure. The target torque is formed to contain a low-frequency torque component that is set at all times based on a torque requirement from a driver and a high-frequency torque component that is set as necessary for a specific type of vehicle control. When the target torque contains only the low-frequency torque component, the target boost pressure is formed using a pressure component corresponding to the low-frequency torque.

Control apparatus for internal combustion engine with supercharger

A control device for an internal combustion engine is provided. The control device includes means which controls fuel injection by a fuel injection device, and means which controls the throttle. The fuel injection control means sequentially restarts fuel injection for each cylinder in accordance with an ignition sequence among cylinders when cancellation conditions of fuel cut are satisfied during implementation of the fuel cut. Meanwhile, the throttle control means firstly controls the throttle to a closing side when the cancellation conditions of fuel cut are satisfied. The throttle is controlled to the closing side, whereby the air amount in the intake pipe is decreased, and the air amount in a cylinder which is the basis of calculation of a fuel injection amount is also decreased.

Disclosed is a control device that is used for an internal combustion engine and capable of periodically varying an air-fuel ratio while keeping torque generated by the internal combustion engine at a target torque. The control device can periodically vary a target air-fuel ratio and controls a fuel injection amount in accordance with the target air-fuel ratio which periodically varies. Further, the control device sets an air amount control torque in accordance with the target torque and calculates a target air amount for achieving the air amount control torque at a predetermined virtual air-fuel ratio. The control device then provides air amount control in accordance with the target air amount and calculates an air amount that is estimated to be achieved by the air amount control. Eventually, the control device calculates torque that is estimated to be achieved by the estimated air amount at the target air-fuel ratio, and provides ignition timing control so as to compensate for the difference between the estimated torque and the target torque by correcting ignition timing.

In a control device which uses a specific physical quantity as a control variable of an internal combustion engine, and controls the internal combustion engine by manipulation of one or a plurality of actuators, switching of setting of a manipulation variable based on a required value of a physical quantity and setting of the manipulation variables by direct instruction to individual actuators is performed without generating discontinuity in a realized value of the physical quantity. When a manipulation variable instruction value directly designating a manipulation variable of an actuator is present, the manipulation variable instruction value is converted into a value of a physical quantity which is realized in the internal combustion engine by the operation quantity instruction value. When a deviation between a physical quantity conversion value converted from the manipulation variable instruction value and the physical quantity required value is within a predetermined range, switch of information for use in setting of the manipulation variable of each of the actuators is permitted.

A control device for a spark-ignition internal combustion engine that sets ignition timing based on a target value of a predetermined combustion-related parameter correlated with a combustion state and operates an ignition device in accordance with the ignition timing thus set. The control device calculates an actual value of the combustion-related parameter from an output value of the cylinder pressure sensor and feeds back the calculated value of the combustion-related parameter to the setting of ignition timing. Further, in parallel with the above processing, the control device calculates a value of a predetermined combustion variation parameter correlated with the magnitude of combustion variation from the output value of the cylinder pressure sensor. If the calculated value of the combustion variation parameter deviates from an allowable range of the combustion variation, the control device stops the feedback of the calculated value of the combustion-related parameter.
