A cosmetic-containing applicator. The applicator is mounted, at its tip end, with an applicator body in which a flange-shaped engagement part is formed at an outer periphery at a rear end of a fiber bundle, comprising an accommodating part accommodating liquid cosmetics, a tip casing mounted on a tip end side of the accommodating part and formed with an insertion hole in which the applicator body () is mountable, a guiding part for guiding the cosmetics from the accommodating part to the applicator body, and a reduced-diameter part formed as an inwardly facing flange and reducing in diameter between the insertion hole and the guiding part. The reduced-diameter part is divided into claw-shaped holding pieces by slits, and its smallest-diameter part has a diameter smaller than an outer diameter of the engagement part.

Provided is a stable water base ink composition which has a sufficiently high concentration as ink for an ink jet-recording apparatus and writing instruments and prevents the recorded images and the written characters from being blurred or disappearing with water and sweat and which has such an excellent light fastness that the images and the characters do not deteriorate over a long period of time and does not cause a change in physical properties and precipitates. A water base dispersion liquid containing colored resin fine particles is prepared by emulsion-polymerizing a vinyl monomer in the presence of a hydrophobic dye and then diluted with water or a water soluble organic solvent, whereby the water base ink composition is produced.

Provided is an erasable ink comprising an emulsion liquid prepared by polymerizing a polymerizable monomer containing a conjugate diene compound in a solvent containing water in the presence of a dye and a surfactant, wherein the polymerizable monomer may contain a vinyl compound as well as a conjugate diene compound, and used are 0.01 to 100 parts by weight of the dye and 0.1 to 30 parts by weight of the surfactant each per 100 parts by weight of the polymerizable monomer.

Provided is a colored resin fine particle water base dispersion liquid which can be a base material for an ink causing no precipitates and having storage stability. Further provided is a water base ink composition for an ink jet recording apparatus or a water base ink composition for a writing tool capable of providing recorded images or written characters and drawn lines which are clear and neither are blurred nor disappear due to water and sweat and which are so excellent in light fastness that they are not deteriorated over a long period of time, wherein the colored resin fine particle water base dispersion liquid is produced by mixing a water soluble basic dye with a mixed vinyl monomer containing a vinyl monomer having an acid functional group and emulsion-copolymerizing the above mixture.

The present invention provides a temporary hairdye which is excellent in dispersion stability of a pigment even after storage over a long period of time by dispersing titanium black, which is safe to a human body, in alcohol having 4 or less carbon atoms, primarily ethanol by using an N-methacryloylethyl-N,N-dimethylammonium..alpha.-N-methylcarboxybetain.but yl methacrylate copolymer. Further, there can be prepared a temporary hairdye which increases dispersion stability of the pigments and provides a different hue by subjecting titanium black and other pigments, particularly iron oxide type pigments such as iron oxide red, black iron oxide and yellow iron oxide to dispersion treatment together.

The present invention provides a teeth-coating liquid comprising a color pigment represented by titanium oxide and a pearl pigment or an extender pigment represented by tricalcium phosphate, dispersed singly or in combination thereof in an alcohol series solvent, mainly ethanol with an N-methacryloylethyl-N,N-dimethylammonium..alpha.-N-methylcarboxybetaine.bu tyl methacrylate copolymer, and an applicator for the coating liquid described above. This teeth-coating liquid provides excellent dispersion stability, gloss, coating property and sticking performance by using the N-methacryloylethyl-N,N-dimethylammonium..alpha.-N-methylcarboxybetaine.bu tyl methacrylate copolymer singly or in combination with a shellac and a vinyl acetate resin.

An applicator for applying a fluid such as eye shadow. The applicator comprises a tubular core having a conduit, and a porous outer membrane arranged to cover the tip of the tubular core. The outlet of the conduit, of the tubular core is formed so that the outlet opens in the tubular core on one side of the tubular core from the longitudinal axis of the tubular core. Therefore, it is possible to apply a fluid to a surface, such a skin of a human being, by using one side of the applicator through which the fluid easily soaks, and to spread and gradate the fluid on the surface, by using the other side of the applicator. The outer membrane may be made from two or three porous sheet members having different porosities from each other, so that a fluid easily soaks through one of the porous sheet members having a relatively large porosity.

A liquid coating instrument in which a coating liquid storage part or reservoir is provided in a shaft cylinder, a coating member is provided at the top of the shaft cylinder and a valve means is provided between the coating liquid storage part and the coating member. A chamber is provided between the valve and the coating liquid storage part. A means is provided that interrupts the communication between the chamber and the coating liquid storage part when knocking occurs and the chamber then comes into communication with the coating member, interrupting the communication between the chamber and the coating member when knocking is over and the chamber again communicates with the coating liquid storage part. Thus, only a maximum volume of the coating liquid, that is stored in the chamber, can be supplied to the coating member.

In a liquid applicator provided with a fixing member for retaining a liquid-application member having a fixing flange at its rear end, the liquid-application member and the fixing member are assembled to form an assembly which is mounted inside a front shaft of the liquid applicator through a snap-in packing. Since the fixing member is provided with a resilient clipping-plate portion for compensating any variation of the thickness of the fixing flange of the liquid-application member, assembling of the assembly and the front shaft can be easily conducted in the liquid applicator.
