A vehicle security device for providing a vehicle with improved security. The security device includes a camera for generating a facial image of a vehicle occupant. A security controller, which is connected to the camera, restricts driving of the vehicle. If the facial image includes the necessary facial features, the security controller enables the driving of the vehicle.

Vehicle security device and system

An electronic key system for a vehicle that prevents private information from being available to a third person. The electronic key system includes a terminal, electronic keys, and a device having comparing and control components. Each electronic key stores a distinct identification code and transmits the identification code to the vehicle. At least one of the identification codes is a restriction code for restricting the usage of the terminal. The comparing component is arranged in the vehicle and stores verification codes associated with the identification codes. The comparing component retrieves the identification code of one of the electronic keys and compares the retrieved identification code with an associated one of the verification codes. The control component restricts activation of the terminal when the retrieved identification code is the restriction code.

Electronic key system

A portable device that resists deformation caused by an external force while remaining water resistant. The portable device includes a case, which is made of a flexible material. A battery compartment is formed in the case. A separable portion is arranged in the part of the case corresponding to the battery compartment. Part of the case is bent to open the separable portion and expose the battery compartment from the case.

A security control system for improving security. The security control system includes a portable device, having a communication function and a portable device ID code. A security controller includes a memory for recording a controller ID code. The security controller communicates with the portable device and determines whether the portable device ID code matches the controller ID code. In accordance with the determination, the security controller selectively deactivates the security functions of a door lock driver and an engine controller. The security controller records and registers the portable device ID code as the controller ID code in the memory and transmits a registration signal containing the portable device ID code. A portable device management apparatus receives the registration signal from the security controller and manages the portable device based on the registration signal.

Security control system for managing registration of ID codes for portable devices

A vehicle security device for improving the security level of a vehicle. The vehicle security device is connected to an engine and communicates with a portable device. A smart ECU performs a first coded communication to establish mutual authentication with the portable device. An ID code box is connected to the smart ECU, has a first code and a second code, and does not communicate with the portable device. The ID code box performs a second coded communication using the first code to establish a second mutual authentication with the smart ECU. An engine ECU performs a third coded communication using the second code to establish a third mutual authentication with the ID code box. The engine ECU enables the engine to be started when every one of the first, second, and third mutual authentications are established.

Vehicle security device and ID code management device

An activation restricting apparatus for an engine starting system that may be produced with a compact size. The apparatus includes an operating mechanism, an actuator, and a control unit. The operating mechanism starts and stops the engine and has a plurality of positions including a LOCK position. The operating mechanism includes a first stopper prohibiting movement of the operating mechanism from the LOCK position and a second stopper prohibiting movement of the operating mechanism to the LOCK position. The control unit enables the engine to be started when the operating mechanism is in the LOCK position and a first ID code sent from a portable device matches a second ID code. The control unit enables the operating mechanism to be moved to the LOCK position when the operating mechanism is not in the LOCK position and the vehicle is not moving.

Apparatus for restricting activation of engine starting system

A thin portable device having high strength. The portable device includes a portable device body for accommodating an electronic component used for communication. The portable device body includes an upper case and a lower case, each having a cavity. A holding frame holds peripheral portions of the upper case and the lower case so that the upper case and the lower case are connected to each other with the cavities opposed to each other.

An engine switch device with improved convenience. The device starts and stops an engine. The device includes a key cylinder, which has a key slot, and a push button switch, which is pushed to stop or start the engine. The key slot is located in the center of the push button in a preferred embodiment.

Engine switch device

A switch device is provided that ensures formation of a communicable area by a coil antenna. The switch device includes an ignition switch operated by an operator for driving an engine starter, a decorative cap arranged to surround the ignition switch and having an ornamental surface, and the coil antenna arranged adjacent to the decorative cap for transmitting a transponder-driving radio wave. The decorative cap includes a transmittable area that can transmit the transponder-driving radio wave therethrough. The transmittable area is formed in a part of the decorative cap excluding the ornamental surface.

Switch device

A controller enabling switching between a smart function and an immobilizer function without using a key cylinder or a slot. The controller includes a verification ECU for transmitting a request signal to a first area and transmitting a transponder drive radio wave to a second area. The portable device transmits an ID code signal in response to the request signal or the transponder drive radio wave. The verification ECU enables the starting of an engine when the ID code transmitted from the portable device matches an ID code of the controller. The verification ECU transmits the drive radio wave when a driver operates a switch in a state in which the starting of the engine is not enabled after the request signal is transmitted.

Controller for remote control system

A controller for an electronic key system including a portable device and an engine. When the ID code of the portable device cannot be authenticated, the controller instructs the driver of the necessary operations. When a transmitter circuit is transmitting a request signal but a receiver circuit does not receive a signal including an ID code matching the ID code stored in a memory, an authentication ECU authenticates a transponder code of the portable device with a stored transponder code to enable the starting of the engine. The authentication ECU displays the necessary operations for performing transponder code authentication.

Controller for electronic key system

A switch device that occupies less space and that can be manufactured at a lower cost. The switch device includes an operation switch operated by an operator for driving an actuator and a coil antenna used to output a transponder-driving radio wave. The coil antenna is arranged adjacent to the operation switch.

A switch device that improves reliability in starting an engine is provided. The switch device includes a push button, a magnetic sensor, and a power supply ECU. The push button is pressed by a driver to start the engine. The magnetic sensor detects that the push button has been pressed, in a non-contact manner. The power supply ECU is connected to the magnetic sensor and supplies power to the magnetic sensor to enable the magnetic sensor to detect that the push button has been pressed.
