When moving a head rest front portion in a full-open position direction, an ECU determines that the head rest front portion comes close to an occupant head portion on the basis of a detection result of an electrostatic capacitance sensor so as to stop the head rest front portion, and determines that the head rest front portion comes close to the occupant head portion on the basis of an absolute capacitance change with respect to a reference electrostatic capacitance value of the electrostatic capacitance sensor. Alternatively, the ECU determines that the head rest front portion comes close to the occupant head portion on the basis of a change amount of the electrostatic capacitance value of the electrostatic capacitance sensor.

Head rest device for vehicle

It is one object of the present invention to provide a control for moving a head rest in response to a signal from a sensor detecting a distance between the head rest and a head of a passenger, in which even if the head of the passenger moves within a predetermined range, the head rest can be prevented from moving depending on the motion of the head of the passenger so as to remove discomfort for the passenger. Therefore, the present invention has a construction as follows. A head rest control system in which a head rest of a seat of a vehicle is constructed to be moved back and forth by a head rest moving mechanism may include a sensor detecting a distance between the head rest and a head of a passenger, and a control device controllably actuating the head rest moving mechanism. The control device is constructed to actuate the head rest moving mechanism when the distance between the head rest and the head detected by the sensor is outside of a proper range of clearance in which it is possible to deal with a back-side collision of the vehicle, thereby moving the head rest to a proper position in which it is possible to deal with the back-side collision of the vehicle.

Head rest control systems

A headrest side connector unit mounted on a headrest of a vehicle includes a stay as a holder and a connector. The connector includes a projectionto be received in a projection insertion hole formed on the stay. A tip part of the second connector at a side to be connected to the mating connector is disposed further outside of the stay than an end of the stay near a seat. An outer surface of the tip part is arranged on the same plane as an outer surface of the end of the stay.

Connector unit

A head rest of a vehicle seat may include a head support portion for supporting a head of a passenger, and a drive unit for moving the head support portion. The drive unit has a moving mechanism that is arranged and constructed to move the head support portion toward and away from the passenger head, an actuator for actuating the moving mechanism, a load detecting device that can detect a load applied to the actuator and generate a control signal representative of the detected load, and a controller that can control the actuator so as to control the moving mechanism. The controller controls the moving mechanism so as to move the head support portion toward the passenger head. The controller controls the moving mechanism based on the control signal so as to stop the motion of the head support portion.

Head rests

The present invention is to provide a connector connection apparatus to avoid drop of a connector without increase of cost. The connector connection apparatus includes a holder for receiving therein and holding the connector, a receiving portion main body for receiving therein and holding the holder, and a plate for fixing the holder attached to the receiving portion main body. The receiving portion main body includes a receiving hole having a diameter larger than an outer diameter of the holder and receiving the holder therein. The holder is inserted from an upper opening of the receiving hole into the receiving portion main body. The holder is then held between the plate and the receiving portion main body.

Connector connection apparatus

It is an object of this invention to provide an active headrest which will not over-push the head of a passenger. For this purpose, the invention provides a headrest controller for moving a part (A) or whole of a headrest () of a vehicle seat toward a head of the passenger to reduce the distance between the headrest () and the head in the horizontal direction by predicting or detecting a crash to the rear of the vehicle, including a head position detecting unit () for detecting a predetermined state of approach or state of contact of the headrest () to or with the head during the movement of the headrest () and a control circuit for stopping the headrest based on a detection signal from the head position detecting unit ().

Head rest control device and active head rest

A headrest control apparatus has a rear radar sensor, a PCS-ECU, a headrest drive mechanism that supports a headrest and drives the headrest relative to the vehicle in its longitudinal direction, a motor, a capacitance sensor, and a headrest control portion that controls the motor. The headrest control portion executes a forward drive control in which the headrest starts to be driven forward in response to a start-up signal from the PCS-ECU and the motor is stopped in response to the positional relation between the occupant's head and the headrest reaching a predetermined positional relation. After the forward drive control, the headrest control portion executes a hold control in which the motor is held in a stopped state for a predetermined hold time. After the hold control, the headrest control portion executes a backward drive control in which the headrest is driven backward.

Headrest control apparatus and method

In a headrest, a first connecting portion, including a first link and a second link relatively rotatably supported to the first link, is provided between a base portion and a receive portion movable between a first and second positions adjacent to/separate from the base portion. A drive portion drives the first connecting portion through a drive input portion provided at least either one of the first and second links by applying a driving force to the drive input portion in a moving direction of the receive portion toward the second position. First and second end portions of the first link are supported by the base portion and the receive portion through first and second pivot points. First and second end portions of the second link are slidably connected to first and second guide portions respectively provided at the base portion and the receive portion through first and second connecting points.

Headrest

The connector unit includes: a first holder to be attached to a first article; a first connector to be received in the first holder; a second holder to be attached to a second article; and a second connector to be received in the second holder to be coupled with the first connector, wherein the first holder includes a hold engaging part having an arm body and a projection which engages with the first connector, the connector unit further includes: an engagement-removing part which removes an engagement between the hold engaging part and the first connector when the first and second connectors are coupled with eachother; and an entrance-permitting part provided on the second holder to allow the projection of the disengaged hold engaging part to enter therein after the first and second connectors move with respect to the first holder.

A headrest device includes a fixed base, a movable base disposed forward relative to the fixed base, at least one first link being rotatably supported by a connecting shaft provided between the movable base and the fixed base, at least one second link being supported by the connecting shaft so as to rotate relative to the first link, a connection portion connecting the movable base and the fixed base to be relatively movable by a relative rotation between the first link and the second link, a drive portion relatively rotating the first link and the second link in a direction so as to deploy the movable base away from the fixed base on the basis of a detected result by a rear-end collision detection means, and at least one relative rotation restricting portion provided for restricting a relative rotation between the first link and the second link about the connecting shaft.

Headrest device

A headrest apparatus for a vehicle includes a headrest rear portion supported by a seatback, a headrest front portion movable between a fully closed position in which the headrest front portion is close to the headrest rear portion, and a fully open position in which the headrest front portion is away from the headrest rear portion, a driving means for moving the headrest front portion, and a controlling means for controlling the driving means so as to move the headrest front portion. The controlling means is configured to control the driving means so as to move the headrest front portion to the fully closed position at a predetermined timing.

Headrest apparatus for vehicle

A pinion of a pretensioner is provided at a side of a torsion shaft, which side is opposite a side connected integrally to a spool via a sleeve. A base lock of a lock mechanism is connected to the pinion. Due to the lock mechanism operating, a leg plate side end portion of the torsion shaft is locked. In this way, due to operation of the pretensioner, the pinion, which is connected to a rotating portion of a sleeve, also is locked by the locking mechanism. Therefore, a piston of the pretensioner is not lowered, and internal pressure of a cylinder does not affect deformation of the torsion shaft.
