There is provided a crystalline thermoplastic resin composition comprising (a) 100 parts by weight of a crystalline thermoplastic resin and (b) 0.01 to 11 parts by weight of a laminar structure of silicate, said laminar structure of silicate being present in the form of crystal nuclei dispersed at a molecular level in said resin, and having an aspect ratio of at least 20 as represented by a length-to-breadth ratio of said crystal nuclei.

In a process for producing an amorphous thermoplastic resin composition comprising melt-kneading at least one amorphous thermoplastic resin, an improvement comprising melt-kneading the amorphous thermoplastic resin in the presence of not less than 1% by weight, based on the amorphous thermoplastic resin, of an organic solvent in a kneader having a vent hole(s) while maintaining at least one vent hole of the kneader under reduced pressure by means of an evacuator to remove the organic solvent so as to reduce the organic solvent content in the final composition to less than 1% by weight. Thermal deterioration of the resin during melt-kneading can be inhibited to provide a resin composition having well-balanced impact resistance and heat resistance and excellent hue.

A composition comprising a polyphenylene ether, a polyamide resin and a compound having an unsaturated group and a polar group in combination in the same molecule kneaded therein, and optionally an impact resistance improving material kneaded in said kneaded product. Impact resistance can be greatly improved as compared with the composition having the all components kneaded at the same time.

Impact resistant thermoplastic resin composition

There is discloses a resin composition which comprises a polyphenylene ether resin, a polyamide resin, an alkenylaromatic compound-conjugated diene copolymer; a compound having unsaturated group and polar group in combination within the same molecule; and an inorganic filler, and the polyphenylene ether resin being dispersed into the polyamide resin which forms continuous phase, and the inorganic filler being dispersed into dispersed phases of the polyphenylene ether resin.
