An exhaust device for a combustion engine includes a collecting pipe to which downstream end portions of two exhaust pipes are connected. The downstream end portions of the exhaust pipes are aligned in a lateral direction perpendicular to an axial direction thereof. The downstream end portions of the exhaust pipes have insertion sections that are inserted into an upstream end portion of the collecting pipe. The upstream end portion of the collecting pipe has a cover section that covers the entirety of circumferences of the insertion sections. Outer circumferential surfaces of the insertion sections of the exhaust pipes and an inner circumferential surface of the cover section of the collecting pipe are joined over the entirety of circumferences thereof at a collecting pipe joining region. The collecting pipe joining region has a displacement portion having its position shifted in the axial direction C toward the lateral direction W.

A breather structure is for an engine of a vehicle provided with a V-belt type continuously variable transmission. The engine includes a crankcase having a crank chamber and a gear transmission chamber, and a V-belt transmission case housing the V-belt type continuously variable transmission, the V-belt transmission case being fastened to an attachment surface on one side of the crankcase in the crankshaft direction. A breather chamber is formed in a mating part between the attachment surface of the crankcase and an attached surface of the V-belt transmission case. This breather chamber separates the air containing oil mist in the crankcase into a gas component and an oil component, discharges the gas component to the exterior of the crankcase, and returns the oil component to the interior of the transmission chamber.

A lubricating oil feeding structure of an engine includes an oil pump provided in a crankcase for pressurizing and feeding oil in an oil reservoir, an oil filter provided in an outer peripheral wall of the crankcase for purifying the oil fed from the oil pump, and an oil cooler provided in a cover member covering an end of the crankcase in the crankshaft direction for cooling the oil sent from the oil filter. Preferably, the cover member is a generator cover, and the oil cooler is arranged on the outer side in the radial direction of a rotor of the generator.

The oil circulation path includes an oil reservoir, an oil pump for sucking oil from the oil reservoir so as to pressurize the oil, an oil supplying oil passage conducting the oil from the oil pump to each of lubrication points, and an oil returning oil passage for returning the oil to the oil reservoir from the lubrication points. The cooling fluid path includes a cooling fluid pump, and a cooling fluid passage for supplying the cooling fluid, which conducts the cooling fluid from the cooling fluid pump to the cooling points. The oil passage and the cooling fluid passage come into contact with each other at one or more points of the engine main body so as to be heat exchangeable via a partition wall.

The present air cleaner includes: a cleaner case having a bottom wall, a circumferential side wall provided with an air inlet in its lower part, and a support wall formed on the bottom wall inside the circumferential side wall; and a cylindrical cleaner element supported on an upper end portion of the support wall. An air chamber is defined by the cleaner case, the support wall, and the cleaner element so as to surround the cleaner element and the support wall. A bottom of the cleaner element is inclined at an angle to the bottom wall of the cleaner case so that a distance between the bottom wall of the cleaner case and the bottom of the cleaner element increases from a side opposite to the air inlet toward an air inlet side.

An engine for a vehicle includes a crankcase and a starting system having a starting motor arranged above a top wall of the crankcase and a starting gear train. The crankcase is divided into left and right crankcase members. For example the left crankcase member has a first motor mounting portion protruded upward from a top wall thereof, and having a motor mounting hole. The right crankcase member has a second motor mounting portion on a top wall thereof. One end of the starting motor is fitted in the first motor mounting hole and other end of the starting motor is fastened on the second mounting portion by bolts.
