A sound generating mechanism for a fishing spinning reel comprises sounding teeth attached in a stationary manner to a spool spindle, and a sound generating element in mesh with the teeth. The sound generating element is formed of a strip of elastic material and incorporated with a support bent in a circular arc and in elastic contact with the inner periphery of the spool, an expansion portion, and a sound generating portion, so that when the spool is rotated to draw out a fishing line the support expands diametrically to jam onto the inner periphery of spool to thereby cause the sound generating portion to move relative to said teeth and make a sound, while, when rotated reversely the sound generating portion contracts to slide with respect to the inner periphery of the spool such that said sound generating portion does not move relative to said teeth and thereby generates no sound.

Sound generating mechanism for a spinning reel

A fishing reel has a spool shaft rotatably supporting a spool on the shaft being provided with a control for restraining the spool from axially moving and a drag plate applying resistance against the rotation of spool. The drag plate is disc-like shaped and has an outer peripheral portion capable of being in contact with a front disc-like wall of the spool, a central portion non-rotatably supported to the spool shaft and axially movable with respect thereto, and an intermediate portion connecting the central and outer peripheral portions which is elastically deformable axially of the spool shaft, so that the spool may be adjusted widely with respect to rotational resistance applied thereto and locked to the spool shaft under the maximum rotation resistance.

Fishing reel

A fishing reel which winds up a fishing line on a spool journaled between two opposite housings of the reel so as to be rotated with a crank handle. The reel also has a line guide provided forwardly of the spool in the direction of draw-out of the line, which line guide can be smoothly reciprocated through a drive transmission in cooperative rotation with a subordinate spindle and a rotary member in mesh with the drive transmission so that the crank handle may be lightly turned to wind the level on the spool without any interruption.

A device for rotating a spool of a fishing reel, comprises a handle stud connected co-operatively with one spool for winding up a fishing line thereon and an operating handle mounted to the end of the handle stud, which operating handle is formed of two arms so as to make changeable the distance between a handle grip and the handle stud, whereby the spool may be rotated to wind up the line thereon with a greater strength from an elongated handle arm for fishing for big game-fish, while, it may be nimbly rotated with a shortened handle arm for fishing for small fish.

Device for rotating a spool of a fishing reel

A fishing reel having a spool rotatably supported at both ends thereof with two side plates opposite each other so that a fishing line is wound up onto the spool by means of rotation thereof, wherein an annular notched portion is formed at the inside of the outer periphery of flanges at both ends of the spool and the inner surface of a hole perforated through a cover plate which is secured to each of the side plates is permitted to face the notched portion, thereby to prevent the line from entering into a gap between a side plate and the spool because of its getting over the flange of the spool.
