A damper is provided by a plurality of chambers defined between stacked thin sheet members and containing a fluid for flowing therein through a communicating section, the chambers being made to be of a small height in the direction perpendicular to the plane of the sheet members and to form a buffer section with at least one of the chambers. An electromagnetic relay includes a pair of contacts of high fusion-bonding resistance and a further pair of contacts of low contact resistance, which pairs being connected mutually in parallel relationship, with an actuator of an electromagnet unit interposed between them and respectively having a movable contactor carrying a movable contact of the pair and provided for contact opening and closing with respect to a stationary contact of the pair by means of the actuator of the electromagnet unit, whereby the pair of contacts of low contact resistance can be prevented from causing any fusion-bonding and any temperature rise around the pair can be effectively restrained.

A sealed contact device is formed by disposing a fixed electrode having a fixed contact in an air-tight space defined in a hermetical container in which an electrically insulating gas is sealed at a high pressure, a movable contact of a movable electrode is provided for contact opening and closing with the fixed contact, and means is provided with respect to the movable electrode for allowing it positively movable in the air-tight manner, whereby an optimum contact opening speed of the movable contact and at the same time a proper contact pressure are both obtainable.
