A method is disclosed herein for reducing energy consumption in a wireless device. A wireless device (e.g., a user equipment) can provide an indication to a network node (e.g., a base station) to indicate that the wireless device will prioritize energy consumption reduction over some network requirements (e.g., latency and/or scheduling flexibility requirements). Accordingly, the wireless device can perform certain power-saving actions to reduce energy consumption. The network node, upon receiving the indication from the wireless device, can perform certain network-related actions to assist the wireless device in reducing energy consumption. As a result, it is possible for the wireless device to reduce energy consumption and complexity, thus helping to prolong battery life in the wireless device.

Methods and devices for reducing UE energy consumption

Techniques for enhancing performance in Industrial Internet-of-Things (IIoT) scenarios, including techniques for time-sensitive networking (TSN) and 5G wireless network integration. An example method, performed by a wireless device, comprises receiving system information (SI) from a radio base station (RBS) of a radio access network (RAN), the SI being indicative of support for TSN through the RBS, and establishing at least one TSN stream with an external data network, through the RBS. The example method further includes receiving a first timing signal from the wireless communications network, via the RBS, receiving a second timing signal from the external TSN data network to which the wireless device is connected, comparing the first timing signal to the second timing signal to determine an offset, and transmitting the offset to the wireless communications network.

Systems and methods for providing feedback are provided. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device includes: determining a set of occasions for candidate PDSCH receptions taking into account the number of sub-slots in an uplink slot; determining a set of occasions for Semi-Persistent Scheduling (SPS) PDSCH releases taking into account the number of sub-slots; the number of sub-slots is used to scale the number of downlink slots within an uplink slot when determining a set of occasions for candidate PDSCH receptions; and the number of sub-slots is used to scale the number of downlink slots within an uplink slot when determining a set of occasions for SPS PDSCH releases. Some embodiments allow for a full support of Type-1 HARQ-ACK codebook for subslot-based HARQ-ACK. Some embodiments are simple to implement into the specification and preserve the existing behavior for the slot-based Type-1 HARQ-ACK codebook determination.

In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless communication device comprises receiving and decoding a Physical Downlink Control Channel (PDCCH) transmission in a CORESET in accordance with at least a portion of a Control Channel Element (CCE) to Resource Element Group (REG) mapping. The PDCCH transmission comprises one or more CCEs. A wireless device determines whether to provide a reduced capability, RedCap, indication via a message 1 of a random access procedure. The wireless device transmits the message 1 based on the determination, and transmits a message 3 of the random access procedure. A RedCap indication is provided via the message 3 at least if a RedCap indication is not provided via the message 1. According to some embodiments, the wireless device receives an indication whether the wireless device is to provide a RedCap indication via the message 1, and the determination is based on the received indication. According to some embodiments, the indication whether the wireless device is to provide a RedCap indication via the message 1 is provided by whether a physical random access channel, PRACH, partition between RedCap wireless devices and other wireless devices is configured.

A method performed by a wireless device comprises receiving () a first grant that allocates first radio resources for use by the wireless device and a second grant that allocates second radio resources for use by the wireless device, where the first radio resources partially overlap in time with the second radio resources. A method performed by a wireless device for determining a start symbol of a plurality of PDSCH transmission occasions using a relative reference symbol includes: receiving an indication that includes indications: that enable/disable the use of the relative reference symbol; the offset between the last symbol of a first PDSCH and the first symbol of a second PDSCH; that there are multiple PDSCH transmission occasions; and that a symbol of the first transmission occasion and length corresponding to all transmission occasions; and determining the symbol at which each of the plurality of PDSCH transmission occasions end which will be used to determine the start symbol of the next PDSCH transmission occasion. A method and apparatus are disclosed for handling DCI size alignment. In one embodiment, a network node is configured to perform a downlink control information, DCI, size alignment procedure based at least in part on a limit of a total number of different DCI sizes that a wireless device, WD, is configured to monitor. The network node is further configured to transmit a DCI message, the DCI message generated according to the DCI alignment procedure. In one embodiment, a WD is configured to monitor a cell for a downlink control information, DCI, message. Methods of uplink transmission cancellation

Systems and methods for priority-dependent Uplink Control Information (UCI) resource determination are provided. In some embodiments, a wireless device determines that one or more UCIs are to be multiplexed onto a Physical Uplink Shared Channel (PUSCH); determines priorities of the PUSCH and/or each of the one or more UCIs; determines at least one beta offset value for one or more UCIs based on one or more of the priorities; set or adjust a UCI code rate based on the at least one beta offset value; and transmit a UCI according to the UCI code rate. This provides a simple and consistent method to deduce beta offset value for UCI based on priorities of UCI and PUSCH. The solution supports possible multiple different beta offset values determined without extra explicit signaling, i.e., it helps to reduce DCI bits needed to indicate potentially multiple beta offset values.
