Systems and method are provided for detecting latency in radio frequency connections. A computing device may present a first cue at a first time. In response, the computing device may receive a first input from a wireless device at a second time that indicates that a control of the wireless device associated with the first cue has been activated. The computing device may define a signal latency value based on the first time and the second time. The computing device may then receive a second input from the wireless device that includes an indication of a control activation at a third time. And in response, the computing device may process the control activation if the control activation is received at a fourth time that is prior to the third time. The time interval between the fourth time and the third time can be equal to the signal latency value.

Systems and methods for mitigating radio-frequency latency in wireless controllers

Systems and method are provided for detecting latency in radio frequency connections. A computing device can detect, at a first time, light using an optical sensor and receive, at a second time, a first data packet over a connection with a first wireless device. The computing device may define a first signal latency value based on the first time and the second time. The computing device may then receive a media stream that includes a video component and an audio component and modify a presentation of the media stream by delaying the video component by a time interval based on the first signal latency value.

Systems and methods for mitigating radio-frequency latency wireless devices

An exemplary method includes a media content presentation system detecting a presentation of a media content instance by way of a primary media content access device, determining that a secondary media content access device is located within a detection zone associated with the primary media content access device during a time period associated with the presentation of the media content instance, selecting, in accordance with a course correction heuristic, advertisement content related to the media content instance and configured to target a user of the secondary media content access device, and presenting the advertisement content to the user by way of the secondary media content access device during the presentation of the media content instance by the primary media content access device. A device is configured to receive media content from a mobile device. The device may receive security information from the mobile device. The security information may indicate a setting for presenting the media content on a display device. The device may store the media content and the security information. The device may receive an instruction to present the media content on the display device. The device may determine whether the media content is permitted to be presented on the display device based on the security information. The device may selectively cause the display device to present the media content based on whether the media content is permitted to be presented on the display device.

Using a media client device to present media content from a mobile device

A system receives one or more content streams for a program including a Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP) Live Streaming (HLS) master manifest file for the program, HLS media segments having different bitrate variants, and HLS media manifest files for each of the different bitrate variants. The system encapsulates the HLS master manifest file, the HLS media segments, and the HLS media manifest files into Internet Protocol/User Datagram Protocol (IP/UDP) packets and sends the IP/UDP packets via multicast to video serving offices. Network devices in the video serving offices extract from the IP/UDP packets the HLS master manifest file, the HLS media segments, and the HLS media manifest files. The network devices send to a cache device the HLS media segments and the HLS media manifest files; and forward the IP/UDP packets via multicast to devices in customer premises.

HTTP live streaming delivery over multicast

A device may receive and store first device information (first information), associated with a media client device (media client), and a first security key (a first key) from a content provider network (CPN); and may receive a provisioning request from the media client, including second device information (second information), based on the media client detecting an absence of a physical network connection to receive media content. The device may compare the first information and the second information and may request a second security key (a second key) based on the first information matching the second information. The device may receive the second key from the media client and may compare the first key and the second key. The device may enable the media client to establish a secure connection to the CPN, via a network associated with the device, based on the first key matching the second key.

A user device may receive information identifying one or more first audio programs available for programming content; select a first particular audio program, of the one or more first audio programs; play the first particular audio program; and receive updated information identifying one or more second audio programs available for the programming content when available audio programs change. The one or more second audio programs may be different from the one or more first audio programs. The user device may select, without user interaction, a second particular audio program, of the one or more second audio programs; and play the second particular audio program.

A device may be configured to receive network information for connecting to a wireless network that is provided by a network device. The device may store the network information. The device may detect a wireless device based on radio frequency identification (RFID) communication. The device may transmit the network information to the wireless device via the RFID communication. Secure communication during provisioning of a mobile device to stream media content from a media client

A disclosed system and method relate to presenting a program guide that includes information associated with an instance of programming, including audio information and visual information. A request for the information associated with the instance of programming is received, and a determination is made whether delivery of the first audio information could be completed within a threshold time after receiving the request. The audio information is provided to a user in connection with the visual information when the delivery of the first audio information could be completed within the threshold time. Alternatively, when the delivery of the first audio information could not be completed within the first threshold time, other audio information associated with the instance of the programming is obtained and provided to the user in connection with the visual information.

An exemplary method includes 1) retrieving a set of presentation elements from a remote server, the set of presentation elements including a graphical element, 2) retrieving metadata from the remote server, the metadata associated with the graphical element and including information specifying coordinates at which the graphical element is to be displayed and a distance for the graphical element to cover within a graphical user interface, 3) using the metadata to determine a distance to stretch the graphical element within the graphical user interface, 4) stretching the graphical element the determined distance starting from the specified coordinates, and 5) including the stretched graphical element within the graphical user interface.
