A gasket includes: a metal plate portion having a sealing target hole and a fastening hole; and a coating layer applied to a surface of the metal plate portion. The coating layer includes a rubber layer and a lubricating layer having a lower coefficient of friction than the surface of the metal plate portion. In the coating layer on a part of the surface of the metal plate portion that includes at least a periphery of the sealing target hole, the rubber layer and the lubricating layer are laminated and the lubricating layer is arranged on a surface layer of the coating layer. In the coating layer on a periphery of the fastening hole, the rubber layer is laminated and the rubber layer is arranged on a surface layer of the coating layer.

Gasket

A manifold gasket includes two or more metal plates laminated together to form the manifold gasket, a plurality of bores formed in the metal plates, a plurality of annular seal portions, each surrounding each of the plurality of bores to seal therearound, a plurality of bolt holes disposed at an outer periphery of each of the plurality of annular seal portions so that fastening bolts are inserted therethrough, and a partition protector having a thermal deformation coping portion, located in the two or more metal plates between two of the bores. The thermal deformation coping portion includes offset slits in each metal plate such that none of the slits are aligned in a lamination direction of the thermal deformation coping portion, and such that the slits prevent damage to the manifold gasket due to temperature fluctuations by accommodating thermal expansion or contraction of the manifold gasket.

Manifold gasket

A cylinder head gasket includes two or more metal plates laminated together to form the cylinder head gasket, a plurality of cylinder bores formed in the metal plates, a plurality of annular seal portions, each surrounding each the plurality of cylinder bores to seal therearound; a plurality of bolt holes disposed at an outer peripheral side of the plurality of annular seal portions so that fastening bolts are inserted therethrough, and a partition protector having a thermal deformation coping portion, located in the two or more metal plates between two of the bolt holes. The thermal deformation coping portion includes offset slits in each metal plate such that none of the slits are aligned in a lamination direction of the thermal deformation coping portion. The slits prevent damage to the cylinder head gasket due to temperature fluctuations by accommodating thermal expansion or contraction of the cylinder head gasket.

Cylinder head gasket

A gasket formed by laminating two or more metal plates includes a seal target hole, an annular seal portion sealing an outer peripheral edge of the seal target hole, and a plurality of bolt holes disposed at the outer peripheral side of the seal portion. Each metal plate constituting a thermal deformation coping portion is provided with slits intersecting in a longitudinal direction of the metal plate and each slit constitutes a lamination portion of the metal plate so as not to penetrate in a lamination direction. When one seal target hole is provided, a portion suspended in the seal target hole is formed at the thermal deformation coping portion, and when multiple seal target holes are provided, at least one of portions interposed between the adjacent seal portions and a portion interposed between the adjacent bolt holes is formed at the thermal deformation coping portion.

A gasket capable of surely preventing leakage of a fluid, without deteriorating a sealing performance even when a situation of fall of surface pressure at a periphery edge of a through hole occurs is provided. There are formed a primary seal structurelying on an inner side in the radial direction of a periphery edge endand a secondary seal structurelying on an outer side in the radial direction of the periphery edge endin which the primary seal structureincludes a primary upper layer beadformed to an upper layera primary intermediate layer beadformed to a second plate materialof an intermediate layerand a primary lower layer beadformed to a lower layerstacked in an x direction, and the secondary seal structureincludes a secondary upper layer beadformed to the upper layeran secondary intermediate layer beadformed to the second plate materialof the intermediate layerand a secondary lower layer beadformed to the lower layerstacked in the x direction.

A gasket includes a plurality of metal plates laminated together, and having a plurality of through holes situated adjacent to each other, and seal structures each annularly surrounding each of the through holes. Each of the seal structures includes a first seal bead adjacent to one through hole and a second seal bead situated outside the first seal bead relative to the one through hole, a first seal portion located in a first area between adjacent two through holes, and a second seal portion located in a second area other than the first area. The first seal portion has an annular width narrowing as outside ends of the first seal portion come close to a center of the first seal portion by locating the second seal bead close to the first seal bead, and the second seal portion has an annular width constant in an annular circumferential direction.

A gasket includes at least one metal plate formed of a martensitic stainless steel plate and clamped between two members fastened by fastening devices, a cylinder bore provided in the metal member, a seal bead protruding outwardly from a flat surface of the metal plate, and annularly surrounding the cylinder bore, the seal bead having a top portion and two side portions arranged at two sides of the top portion, and insertion holes for the fastening devices to pass through, provided around the cylinder bore. The seal bead has a high hardness portion having a hardness higher than that in a portion of the metal plate other than the high hardness portion. The high hardness portion has a thickness gradually reduced toward a boundary between the high hardness portion and the portion other than the high hardness portion.

Gasket equipped with bead with different hardness

A gasket includes at least one metal plate to be clamped between two members fastened by fastening devices, an opening portion corresponding to a sealing hole provided in the at least one metal member, a seal bead protruding outwardly from a flat surface of the at least one metal plate, and annularly surrounding the opening portion, and insertion holes through which the fastening devices pass. At least one metal plate is formed by a martensitic stainless steel plate, and a high hardness portion having a hardness higher than that of the stainless steel plate is formed in at least one portion of the seal bead formed in the stainless steel plate.

A gasket clamped between two members fastened by a fixture, includes first and second metal plates laminated together to form the gasket, fixture holes formed in the first and second metal plates for inserting the fixture therein, sealing subject holes formed in the first and second metal plates, fastening-stress concentration areas located on the first and second metal plates between the fixture holes and the sealing subject holes where a fastening stress concentrates when the two members are fastened by the fixture, and a linear bead formed on the first metal plate only at the fastening-stress concentration area to reduce the fastening stress when the two members are fastened. The linear bead projects to a side opposite to the second metal plate, and is disposed on an axis line connecting a center of the fixture hole and a center of the sealing subject hole in the first metal plate.

Gasket and engine with the gasket

A gasket includes at least one metal plate; a fixture hole formed in the at least one metal plate, for inserting a fixture therein; a sealing subject hole formed in the at least one metal plate; and a fastening-stress concentration area located on the at least one metal plate between the fixture hole and the sealing subject hole where a fastening stress concentrates when the two members are fastened by the fixture. A fastening-stress reduction portion is formed only on the fastening-stress concentration area to reduce the fastening stress when the two members are fastened.

A gasket for arrangement between a cylinder block and cylinder head of an internal combustion engine. The gasket includes a lubricant hole through which lubricant is supplied to the cylinder head. A high pressure bead extends around the lubricant hole. A low pressure bead is extends around the high pressure bead and at least partially extends around a hollow portion, which is in communication with a lubricant reservoir of the engine, when the gasket is arranged between the cylinder block and the cylinder head.

Gasket for cylinder head

A metal laminate cylinder head gasket is formed by a plurality of metal plates laminated together, and a misalignment preventing portion for preventing misalignment of the laminated metal plates, formed in the metal plates. The misalignment preventing portion includes a pair of notches facing each other and penetrating each of the metal plates, and a bridging portion provided between the notches in each of the metal plates and bulging in one direction to project from a surface of each of the metal plates. The metal plates are laminated together such that the notches and the bridging portions overlap and closely contact to engage together to thereby prevent displacement of the metal plates.

Metal laminate cylinder head gasket

A cylinder head gasket for an internal combustion engine includes a first metal plate having first holes and first beads formed around the respective first holes, and a second metal plate disposed under the first metal plate and having a second bead extending toward the first metal plate. A distance between the first and second beads or a width of at least one of the first and second beads at a high heat load portion of the cylinder bore is formed to be greater than a distance between the first and second beads or a width of at least one of the first and second beads at a low heat load portion of the cylinder bore to thereby reduce a surface pressure at the high heat load portion.
