A colorized and tribologically modified polyoxymethylene polymer composition is disclosed. The polyoxymethylene polymer composition is comprised of a polyoxymethylene polymer in combination with at least one tribological modifier. The tribological modifier may include a fluoropolymer. The polymer composition further contains at least one coloring agent in combination with a color stabilizer. The color stabilizer has been found to dramatically improve color consistency. Polymer articles molded from the polymer composition not only have excellent surface appearance but have excellent low friction characteristics when tested against aluminum.

Color stable and low wear polymer composition and articles made therefrom

A fiber reinforced thermoplastic polymer composition is disclosed that contains at least one mold release agent. The mold release agent can comprise a polar material and/or a non-polar material. In one embodiment, both a polar wax and a non-polar wax are used. The polymer composition may also contain one or more tribological modifiers. The tribological modifier may comprise an ultra-high molecular weight silicone.

The present disclosure is directed to a polyacetal, or polyoxymethylene (POM), base composition which contains an additive package containing additives suitable for food processing applications. Polyacetal or polyoxymethylene polymers are of the class of polymers containing —CHO-repeat units, useful for molding all different types of products and articles. Of particular advantage, POM produced according to the present disclosure may demonstrate low formaldehyde emissions, extractables, or both, when measured by standard methods without containing any formaldehyde scavenger packages.

A polymer composition containing a polyoxymethylene polymer having low shrinkage characteristics and/or an expanded processing window is disclosed. The polymer composition is particularly well suited for use in three-dimensional printing systems, such as printers that use filament fusion technology. The polymer composition, for instance, can be a feed material in the form of a filament or polymeric pellets. The feed material can be placed in a printer cartridge for insertion into a three-dimensional printing system. In accordance with the present disclosure, a polyoxymethylene polymer is combined with one or more dimensional stabilizing agents for dramatically improving the processing characteristics of the polymer.

Polyester polymer compositions

A tribologically modified polyoxymethylene polymer composition is disclosed. The polyoxymethylene polymer composition is comprised of a polyoxymethylene polymer in combination with a tribological modifier system. The tribological modifier system may include the combination of a fluoropolymer with a high density polyethylene, such as an oxidized high density polyethylene. The particular formulation provides a synergistic blend of properties. For instance, the polymer composition not only has an excellent surface appearance when molded into articles but has excellent low friction characteristics when tested against aluminum.

The present disclosure is generally directed to a fiber reinforced polyoxymethylene polymer composition having extremely low formaldehyde emission characteristics. The polymer composition generally contains reinforcing fibers in an amount from 3% to 70% by weight. The reinforcing fibers are combined with a polyoxymethylene polymer having a relatively high melt volume flow rate. The polymer composition can also contain a coupling agent for better integrating the reinforcing fibers into the polymer matrix. In addition to low emission properties, the polymer composition of the present disclosure displays excellent mechanical properties.

The present invention relates to a molding composition, a process for manufacturing the molding composition, and molded parts obtainable from the molding composition. The molding composition can contain at least one polyoxymethylene having terminal OH-groups, at least one polyisocyanate coupling agent, at least one reinforcing fiber, and at least one formaldehyde scavenger. The moldings produced from the molding composition are distinguished by their improved mechanical properties while having low formaldehyde emissions and excellent tensile strength while having a good flex fatigue and creep performance.

A tribologically modified polyoxymethylene polymer composition is disclosed. The polyoxymethylene polymer composition is comprised of a polyoxymethylene polymer and at least one tribological modifier. The tribological modifier may comprise at least one tribological modifier comprising an ultra-high molecular weight silicone having a kinematic viscosity of greater than 100,000 mms. The composition may exhibit a dynamic coefficient of friction against a counter-material of from about 0.01 to about 0.15. The polyoxymethylene polymer compositions provide polymer articles with improved tribological properties and mechanical properties.

Intrinsic low friction polyoxymethylene

A tribologically modified polyoxymethylene polymer composition is disclosed. The polyoxymethylene polymer composition is comprised of a polyoxymethylene polymer and at least one tribological modifier. The tribological modifier may comprise an ultra-high molecular weight silicone having a kinematic viscosity of greater than 100,000 mms. When tested against itself, the composition of the present disclosure exhibits an extremely low dynamic coefficient of friction and produces no discernible noise over a very broad temperature range, such as from &#x2212;20&#xb0; C. to 60&#xb0; C.
