In-riser power generation devices and methods are utilized to generate power subsea to operate subsea devices of a subsea well system. A turbine power generator is located in fluid communication with a subsea fluid flow path of a subsea well system and the turbine power generator is operationally connected to a subsea power device.

In-riser power generation

A technique facilitates monitoring of strain related effects along a tubing string, such as a tubing string extending from surface equipment toward a sea floor in a subsea well application. A monitoring module is employed to monitor the strain related effects and may have a tubular structure. The monitoring module also has a reduced wall thickness region constructed to concentrate strain in this reduced wall thickness region. Additionally, the monitoring module comprises at least one sensor mounted to the tubular structure in the reduced wall thickness region for monitoring of strains.

Monitoring tubing related equipment

A method for pressurizing a hydraulic accumulator includes creating an annulus pressure zone in hydraulic communication with the hydraulic accumulator through a hydraulic recharging circuit and applying a hydraulic pressure to the annulus pressure zone. Operating the hydraulic recharging circuit in response to applying the hydraulic pressure and pressurizing the hydraulic accumulator in response to operating the hydraulic recharging circuit.
