A file folder includes files of various different media types. A user's input is detected and a representation of the different files in the folder is displayed in a horizontally scrollable display that can be moved based on the user's input. A user interaction is detected and a file is then displayed in an interactive mode in which interactive, contextual controls are surfaced for user interaction, in order to interact with the displayed file.

Described herein are various technologies pertaining to generating an activity feed for an entity hosted at a file hosting server. The activity feed includes a plurality of entries that are representative of activities undertaken with respect to the entity over time.

Techniques and technologies for a details pane of a user interface are described. In at least some embodiments, a system includes a user interface component operable to render a content section at least partially viewable within a details pane, the content section including a section header; when the location of the section header is above an uppermost available position within the details pane, causing an upper sticky header that is a duplicate of the section header to be visible at the uppermost available position; when the location of the section header is below a lowermost available position within the details pane, causing a lower sticky header that is another duplicate of the section header to be visible at the lowermost available position; and when the location of the section header is at or between the uppermost and the lowermost available positions, causing the section header to be visible.

Details pane of a user interface

The techniques disclosed herein provide hosted third-party application experiences within storage service viewers. Users can store a number of files having many different formats (AutoCAD files, word processing documents, spreadsheets, presentation files, and many files having unique formats) at a storage service. Users can view and edit the contents of a wide range of file formats by the use of a Web browser. The storage service can generate a display page that is configured to access viewing and editing tools from one or more remote services. The display page can also provide controls for the storage service, e.g., Dropbox controls, while concurrently providing the viewing and editing controls for select files. The viewing and editing tools can be provided by one or more remote services, such as a website managed by a third-party entity, such as Autodesk, Inc.
