A coextruded moisture resistant polycarbonate article has a relative thin moisture resistant, polyphthalate-carbonate layer adhered to a relatively thick aromatic polycarbonate corelayer. The coextruded article has the high degree of transparency of aromatic polycarbonates and the moisture resistance and haze resistance of polyphthalate-carbonate. Coextruded sheet and film of the present invention may be subsequently thermoformed without losses in the desirable properties thereof.

Coextruded products with improved weatherability

Improved composite materials are disclosed, in which a thermoplastic core layer has at least one inorganic or organic constituent dispersed therein. A first coextruded thermoplastic outer layer is attached to a first surface of the core layer, and is substantially free of dispersed inorganic and organic constituents, while a second coextruded thermoplastic outer layer is attached to a second surface of the core layer and is also substantially free of dispersed inorganic and organic constituents.

Filled core materials having unfilled outer attached layers

A flame resistant electrically insulating multilayer material is described herein, in which a flame resistant core which may be comprised of coextrudable, thermoformable thermoplastic materials has at least one electrically insulating outer layer attached thereto. Preferred polymeric materials forming the core include blends of polycarbonates with halogen-containing polycarbonates. Each outer layer typically may be formed from polycarbonates and linear polyesters. The multilayer material may be shaped to surround and shield any sensitive device requiring protection from high voltage arcing or fire.

Flame resistant electrical insulating material

A multilayer structure which comprises a layer comprising a polybutylene terephthalate adjacent to a layer comprising an aromatic polyester selected from the group consisting of aromatic polycarbonate, copolyestercarbonate, polyarylate, or mixtures thereof.
