Aspects of the subject disclosure may include, for example, decoding first and second encoded audio portions extracted from a digitally encoded data stream to obtain first and second decoded audio portions. The digitally encoded data stream includes an encoded video portion, multiple encoded audio portions including the first and second audio portions and a reference marker. The first and second decoded audio portions are synchronized to a decoded video portion based on the reference marker. The first decoded audio portion is forwarded to equipment of a first user and the second decoded audio portion is forwarded to equipment of a second user. Presentations of the first decoded audio portion by the equipment of the first user and the second decoded audio portion by the equipment of the second user are synchronized to a presentation of the decoded video portion. Providing audio and alternate audio simultaneously during a shared multimedia presentation

Location may be determined based on electrical outlets in a home or business. One or more of the electrical outlets may wirelessly communicate with a mobile device, thus updating a database with the location of the mobile device. As the mobile device moves within the home or business, a current location of the mobile device may be continually logged by passing one of the electrical outlets. Rules and operations may then be performed, based on the current location.

Methods, systems, and products for enhanced location

A system that incorporates teachings of the present disclosure may include, for example, a media distribution device having a support structure adapted for removably receiving a server module, a plurality of encoders, and an Internet Protocol (IP) router module; and a bus adapted for placing the server module, the plurality of video encoders, and the IP router module in communication with each other, where the server module is adapted to receive media content, where the plurality of video encoders is adapted to generate a plurality of encoded media contents from the media content and the video encoders generate the encoded media contents in temporal proximity to each other, where the IP router module is adapted to distribute the plurality of encoded media contents over an IP network.
