Audio processing method is described to continuously process an audio signal while changing between audio modes so that the listener does not experience a discontinuous sound during the transition. The first audio signal can be combined with the second audio signal to produce a smooth, continuous output signal that changes to only having the second audio signal over a time period. A global gain can be reduced during the transition from the first audio mode to a subsequent audio mode. Differences in the parameters from the first mode to the second mode can be determined and the parameters that differ are stepped from an initial value to a subsequent value over a transition time to produce a smooth audio signal.

System and method for transitioning between audio system modes

A device for processing a signal includes a processing module used to process data in a domain. The device includes domain conversion hardware and memory, both separate from the processing module. The memory receives and sends data represented in a first domain to the domain conversion hardware. The domain conversion hardware converts the first domain data into the second domain data that may be used or processed by the processing module. The second domain data is then accessed and used by the processing module for processing.

A memory access system may be used to relay data between an electronic device and external memory. The memory access system may include write buffers which may receive and write information from the electronic device to the external memory. The memory access system may also include read buffers which may gather data from the external memory and send it to a main processing component of the electronic device for processing. The memory access system may be configured so that the main processing component of the electronic device may gather data from the write buffers of the memory access system when a condition is satisfied.
