Flow sensors are provided that can monitor flow conditions. The flow sensor includes a gauge that provides a first level of information about flow through the sensor, and an indicator associated with the gauge that can provided a second level of information about flow through the sensor. The indicator might be in the form of a dial that can rotate about the gauge and might include a locked position for monitoring flow and an unlocked position to rotate the dial about the gauge to reposition the dial. A twisted shaft with varying twist rate is provided to convert linear motion to rotational motion for the gauge.

Flow sensors are provided that can provide both leak detection and flow monitoring. The flow monitoring enables a determination whether there are blockages or leaks in a fluid system during normal operation of the system. The leak detection enables detection of leaks when the system is shut off. The flow sensors can use a frusto-conical flow guide to provide a more compact flow sensor.

A device for delivering fluid to a user includes a housing, a drive motor assembly in the housing, other internal components in the housing, and a keypad external to the housing. The device includes a number of features and elements that enhance its operation, manufacturability, reliability, and user-friendliness. These features and elements include a shock absorbing element for a battery of the device, a keypad actuator layer that overlies a keypad assembly and forms a water resistant seal with the housing, and an offset element for a piezoelectric speaker that is located inside the housing.

An irrigation emitter is provided for delivering irrigation water from a water supply conduit, such as an irrigation supply tube, pipe, or other water supply apparatus, at a low volume or drip-like flow rate. The emitter operates generally through the use of a reduced size orifice and a relatively long tortuous flow channel that cause a pressure reduction between the water supply conduit and an emitter outlet. The emitter includes an inlet for tapping a portion of the water flow from the water supply conduit and, when the water pressure is above a predetermined minimum level, directing the flow to and through the flow channel for subsequent discharge to a desired location. The emitter also may regulate to accommodate for changes in supply pressure. The emitter also may include multiple emitter outlets.

Low flow irrigation emitter

A multi-diameter tube coupling is provided for interconnecting flexible plastic tubing of the type used in drip irrigation systems and the like, wherein the tube coupling is adapted for use with a range of different tubing sizes. The tube coupling includes a central body defining an internal flow path, with a retainer collet mounted thereon at each open end of the flow path to capture a seal member having a compliant, pressure-activated seal lip. The retainer collet includes an annular array of lock fingers for unidirectional slide-fit locked reception of one end of a length of tubing within a range of different sizes, with the seal lip engaging the tubing to provide a substantially leak-proof connection. Alternatively, the collet lock fingers accommodate slide-fit locked reception of a barbed swivel adapter, with the seal lip engaging the adapter to provide a substantially leak-proof connection.

A light-weight bicycle crown includes a horizontal unitary body member having in longitudinal vertical cross-section an arched generally inverted U-shaped configuration including a center portion, a pair of generally downwardly extending leg portions, and a pair of end portions integral with the lower ends of the leg portions, respectively, the center portion containing a vertical center through bore for receiving the bicycle steering shaft, and the end portions containing vertical end through bores on opposite sides of the center bore for receiving the stanchions of the front fork shock absorber means, respectively, characterized by the provision of lightening bores that extend from the end bores longitudinally within the leg portions, respectively, the end bores terminating in closed end walls adjacent the center through bore. Preferably, the end walls of the lightening bores are concave, the lightening bores have an elliptical cross-sectional configuration, and the thickness of the crown leg portion surrounding each lightening bore is constant, thereby to achieve maximum structural strength with a minimum of total crown weight.
