The present disclosure relates to transmitting and receiving improved monitoring reports. A base station can configure a user equipment (UE) to monitor a channel/signal on multiple beams. The base station can transmit the multiple beams to the UE, which are at different time periods in a monitoring window. The UE can then monitor the multiple beams within the monitoring window and determine a monitoring report. The UE can then transmit the monitoring report to the base station, wherein the monitoring report indicates a subset of multiple beams as being more or less suitable for communication. The base station can also indicate that it will stop transmitting one or more beams and then stop transmitting the beams. If the UE does not send the report, the base station can continue to transmit the multiple beams.

Dynamic search space configuration

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described that provide for a user equipment (UE) to report higher order phase variation information to a network entity for the purpose of coherent joint transmission (CJT) with two or more transmission reception points (TRPs). The UE may provide an indication to the network entity that the UE is able to report higher order phase variation information, and a measurement report may be provided that includes such higher order phase variation information. The network entity may select a precoding matrix for CJT with the UE via the two or more TRPs based on the measurement report. The network entity may then communicate with the UE via the TRPs in accordance with the selected precoding matrix.

Time domain phase tracking for coherent joint communications with multiple transmission-reception points

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may transmit, to a base station, a UE capability to receive a first portion of a tracking reference signal (TRS) and a second portion of the TRS, the first portion and the second portion associated with a TRS pattern. The UE may receive, from the base station, an indication of the TRS pattern, where the TRS pattern includes the first portion of the TRS pattern and the second portion of the TRS pattern. The UE may receive one or more TRSs according to the first portion of the TRS pattern and the second portion of the TRS pattern.

Enhanced tracking reference signal patterns

Aspects relate to configuration for channel state information (CSI) signaling. For example, a base station may transmit, to a user equipment (UE), a configuration message indicating report metrics, where each of the report metrics is associated with at least one corresponding CSI resource set of CSI resource sets associated with antenna panels configured for communication with the UE. The base station may further transmit at least one reference signal via at least one of the antenna panels to the UE in accordance with the configuration message. The base station may further receive, from the UE, a CSI report that includes report quantity values respectively associated with the report metrics, where the report quantity values are based on measurement of the at least one reference signal according to the configuration message.

Channel state information (CSI) signaling for multiple report metrics

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive, from a base station, a configuration message indicating a first reporting quantity type and a second reporting quantity type for generating a measurement report. The UE may determine a measurement payload size to use for generating a measurement payload for the first reporting quantity type and the second reporting quantity type. The UE may measure a first set of resources in accordance with the first reporting quantity type and a second set of resources in accordance with the second reporting quantity type. The UE may transmit, to the base station, the measurement report including a first measurement payload having the measurement payload size for the first reporting quantity type and a second measurement payload having the measurement payload size for the second reporting quantity type.

Techniques for reporting multiple quantity types

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide enhancements to enable per transmission reception point (per-TRP or per beam group) based beam failure recovery (BFR), and more particularly, techniques for indicating capabilities of a user equipment (UE) to support TRP specific BFR. A method that may be performed by a UE includes transmitting, to a network entity, an indication of one or more capabilities of the UE to support beam group specific BFR, communicating with at least two TRPs using beams associated with at least two beam groups, each of the at least two beam groups associates with one of the at least two TRPs, detecting a beam failure in a beam group of the at least two beam groups, and participating in the beam group specific BFR, in accordance with the indicated one or more capabilities of the UE.

User equipment (UE) capability for transmission reception point (TRP) specific beam failure recovery (BFR)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. The user equipment (UE) may receive a first configuration indicating a first resource set corresponding to a first set of transmit beams and a second resource set corresponding to a second set of transmit beams and a second configuration indicating a third resource set. The UE may receive reference signals using the first resource set and a first set of receive beams and reference signals using the second resource set and a second set of receive beams. The UE may transmit a first report indicating a first beam pair and a second beam pair and receive a third set of reference signals using the first receive beam, the second receive beam, and the third resource set. The UE may transmit a second report comprising a parameter indicative of a correlation between the first beam pair and the second beam pair.

Beam management procedure that supports multiple input multiple output transmissions

Apparatus, methods, and computer-readable media for facilitating model-based uplink-downlink channel tracking are disclosed herein. An example method for wireless communication at a UE includes receiving, from a network node, a model configuration indicative of a model condition of a channel between the UE and the network node. The example method also includes receiving a measurement resource from the network node to measure a condition of the channel. The example method also includes transmitting, to the network node, an SRS. The example method also includes transmitting, to the network node, noise covariance information for the model configuration based on a measurement of the condition of the channel, the noise covariance information associated with the SRS.

Model-based uplink-downlink channel tracking

Aspects relate to techniques for quasi co-location (QCL) parameter weighting for coherent joint transmissions (CJTs). A network entity can provide an indication of a respective weight to be applied to each of a plurality of transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states, each associated with a respective transmission and reception point (TRP) of the network entity for a CJT transmission. The network entity can use the respective weights to generate the CJT transmission and provide the CJT transmission to a user equipment (UE).

Quasi co-location parameter weighting for coherent joint transmissions

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described in which different component carriers (CCs) or bandwidth parts (BWPs) of a system operating according to carrier aggregation may be configured with different transmission configuration indicator (TCI) states. A base station may transmit control information to a user equipment (UE) to activate two or more CCs, and that indicates two or more different sets of TCI states that are activated for the two or more CCs. The control information may be transmitted to the UE in a single MAC-CE. The single MAC-CE to activate different sets of TCI states at CCs or BWPs may allow for a reduced number of MAC-CEs used for conveying the set of active TCI states for the CCS or BWPs.

Transmission configuration indicator state activation techniques for carrier aggregation

Techniques and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a first message from a network entity that indicates a configuration for reporting spatial domain basis function updates to the network entity. The UE may transmit a full channel state information (CSI) report and a partial CSI report to the network entity based on the indicated configuration. The full CSI report may indicate a set of spatial domain basis functions and the partial CSI report may indicate an update for the set of spatial domain basis functions. The update for the set of spatial domain basis functions may be relative to the full CSI report or a previously transmitted partial CSI report. In some examples, the UE may receive a second message from the network entity based on the partial CSI report.

Techniques for spatial domain basis function refinement

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive a downlink beam indication for at least one of a channel, a resource, a resource set, a bandwidth part, or a component carrier; and use the downlink beam indication for a group of channels, resources, resource sets, bandwidth parts, or component carriers. In some aspects, a UE may receive an indication of a spatial relation and multiple physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) resources to which the spatial relation is to be applied; and use the spatial relation to transmit on one or more PUCCH resources of the multiple PUCCH resources. Group-based beam indication and signaling

Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques for beam failure detection and recovery. A method that may be performed by a user equipment (UE) includes monitoring one or more reference signals for beam failure detection for a plurality of component carriers (CCs), detecting a beam failure for a subset of one or more CCs of the plurality of CCs based on the one or more reference signals, generating a beam failure recovery request (BFRQ) indicating that a beam failure has occurred for the plurality of CCs in response to the detection of the beam failure for the subset of one or more CCs, and transmitting the BFRQ.

Joint failure of component carrier (CC) groups

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may generate a recommendation for a first codebook that is for a single transmit receive point (TRP) and that does not include a time domain (TD) or Doppler domain (DD) basis, or for a second codebook that is for multiple TRPs or that includes a TD or DD basis. The UE may transmit the recommendation. Numerous other aspects are described.

Codebook selection

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A user equipment (UE) may receive a control message triggering the UE to perform an iterative joint beam pair selection procedure for selecting a receive beam and a transmission beam. In some cases, the UE may additionally receive control signaling from the base station configuring the UE to generate a measurement report associated with the receive beam (e.g., that is associated with a first and second port of the UE). The UE may then receive a reference signal via the receive beam. Based on receiving the reference signal, the UE may transmit the measurement report to the base station, where the measurement report indicates at least one measurement, a first resource index corresponding to the first port of the UE, and a second resource index corresponding to the second port of the UE.
