A turbomachine includes a housing and a rotating group supported for rotation about an axis of rotation within the housing. The rotating group includes a wheel and seal member that is unitary. The wheel and seal member includes a first wheel feature and a second wheel feature that are disposed in a back-to-back arrangement with an outer radial area disposed between the first and second wheel features and facing radially outward from the axis of rotation. The turbomachine also includes a plurality of labyrinthine seal members included on the outer radial area that cooperatively define, with the housing, a labyrinthine seal.

A turbomachine includes a housing, a rotating group that is housed within the housing, and a fluid bearing system with a thrust member. The turbomachine further includes a compressor stage configured to receive a fluid from an area within the housing. Also, the turbomachine includes a seal plate of the housing. The seal plate includes a first face and a second face. The first face has a flow surface that at least partly defines a fluid flow path toward the compressor wheel. The second face has a thrust member support surface configured to support the thrust member during rotation of the rotating group. The seal plate includes an aperture that fluidly connects the area to the fluid flow path.

A bearing arrangement for a turbomachine includes first and second roller element bearings. The first bearing and the second bearing are disposed on opposite axial ends of an intermediate sleeve of the rotating group. The first bearing has a first inner race with a first inner radial surface and a first outer radial surface. The first inner radial surface has a first interference fit with a shaft of the rotating group. The first outer radial surface has a second interference fit with the intermediate sleeve. The second bearing has a second inner race with a second inner radial surface and a second outer radial surface. The second inner race receives the shaft with a clearance fit. The second outer radial surface has a third interference fit with the intermediate sleeve. The second inner race is coaxially aligned with the first inner race and the shaft via coaxial alignment of the intermediate sleeve and the first inner race.

An assembly can include a turbine housing that defines a bore, a wastegate opening, a wastegate passage to one side of the wastegate opening and a chamber to another side of the wastegate opening and that includes a wastegate seat disposed about the wastegate opening; a rotatable wastegate shaft configured for receipt by the bore; a wastegate arm that extends from the wastegate shaft; and a wastegate plug that extends from the wastegate arm where the wastegate plug includes a seal surface that includes a toe end and a back end where the back end includes a radius of curvature that exceeds a radius of curvature of the toe end.
