An image capture device obtains first image data from a front facing camera on a front face of the device including a display. The first image data represents a subject within a field of view of the image capture device. Facial recognition is performed in response to the first image data from the front facing camera. The front image data is used for determining whether any subject is a priority subject, of whom at least one priority subject image-indicative data is accessible by the image capture device. A region of interest is selected, corresponding to the subject determined to be a priority subject. Automatic focus, automatic exposure, or automatic white balance is performed using the selected region of interest. Second image data from the front facing camera are captured based on the automatic focus, automatic exposure, or automatic white balance using the selected region of interest.

Subject priority based image capture

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media for intelligent routing of notifications related to media programming. In one aspect, a smart television (TV) can be implemented to track a user's TV watching behavior, and anticipate programming based on that behavior. In some other aspects, the smart TV can be implemented to detect a user's presence, and based on that detection, can automatically change the TV channel to media programming analyzed to be desirable to the user. In some further aspects, the smart TV can be implemented to transmit notification instructions to electronic devices within a network in an attempt to alert the user to upcoming media programming. Additionally, the smart TV can be implemented to transmit detection instructions to the electronic devices within the network, whereby the electronic devices attempt to detect a user's presence through voice or facial recognition.

Intelligent routing of notifications related to media programming

This disclosure provides systems, methods and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media for intelligent routing of notifications of incoming voice communication requests. A device, such as a smartphone, may receive an incoming voice communication request, such as a cellular voice call. The smartphone may then identify devices connected to it, such as headsets, tablets, etc., and request each device activate a microphone or camera to attempt to locate the user with respect to the connected devices. The smartphone may then select one of the connected devices, or itself, as the device best able to notify the user of the incoming call based on captured audio, images, or video. The smartphone may then request the selected device output a notification, such as a ring tone, to notify the user of the incoming call. Such a technique may avoid inundating the user with simultaneous call notifications from multiple devices.

Systems and methods for intelligent routing of notifications of incoming voice communication requests

Methods and apparatus related to wireless communication, for example, methods and apparatus for network mode selection are described. In aspects, a method of wireless communication may include determining, by a user equipment (UE) while coupled to a first network using a first RAT, operation in a cellular data off mode, and determining whether to initiate selection or reselection to a second network using a second RAT based on a RAT power consumption data table. Numerous other aspects are provided.

Methods and apparatus for network selection

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may be configured for determining that the UE is to perform a public land mobile network (PLMN) scan operation, the PLMN scan operation to be performed during a PLMN scan window. The UE may track a static state time representing an amount of time that the UE has remained within a static state. The UE may then adjust the PLMN scan window of the UE based at least in part on a value of the static state time satisfying a static state time threshold. The UE may, in various examples, increase the static state time threshold upon adjustment of the PLMN scan window and reset a timer associated with tracking the static state time, or the static state time upon adjustment of the PLMN scan window.
