A clutch device includes an input disc, an output disc, and a biasing member configured to press the input disc against the output disc. A rotation load applied to an output shaft separates the input disc from the output disc against biasing force of the biasing member. The input disc and the output disc include opposing surfaces, each of which includes axially disengageable overlapping tooth portions. Recessed and raised portions of each tooth portion are formed continuously in a radial direction and are alternately arranged in a circumferential direction. Each of the curved shapes of the recessed and raised portions is maintained at a respective identical height while a circumferential width thereof continuously expands in a radially outward direction. Also disclosed is a motor unit including the clutch device. The disclosed clutch device reduces, e.g., deformation or damage of a disengageable portion, and therefore, can improve durability.

Clutch device and motor unit using said clutch device

There is provided a clutch mechanism that allows easy downsizing and produces favorable productivity. Output rotator has on the outer circumferential surface thereof cam surfaces and configured to gradually reduce the space from a housing chamber inner circumferential surface toward one side and recesses adjacent to the one side of the cam surfaces. Input rotator has pressure transmission portions that are fitted with circumferential play to the recesses and are protruded from the insides of the recesses in a centrifugal direction. Engagement pieces are disposed in contact with the cam surfaces and the housing chamber inner circumferential surface. When the input rotator rotates toward the other side relative to the one side, the pressure transmission portions abut against the engagement pieces and then abut against circumferential end surfaces in the recesses to press and move the output rotator.

Clutch mechanism

Provided is a rotational force transmitting apparatus that can prevent jolting of an output shaft in a circumferential direction caused by jolting in an input-side mechanism in the circumferential direction, has a thin and small structure, and is excellent in productivity. In the rotational force transmitting apparatus, a clutch mechanismand a planetary gear mechanismare axially coupled in a fixing member, and a rotational force inputted to a sun gearof the planetary gear mechanismis outputted from an output rotation memberof the clutch mechanism. On the fixing member, a substantially columnar inner-circumferential surface is provided. A housing chamberhousing the clutch mechanismis constituted by the inner circumferential surface on one side in an axial direction. An internal gearof the planetary gear mechanismengaging with planetary gearsis provided on the other side.
