An electric motor includes a rotor having a field permanent magnet, a board housing member fixed to a stator, and a magnetism detecting circuit that detects the magnetism of the field permanent magnet. The magnetism detecting circuit includes a circuit board that is discrete from the board housing member, a sensor case that is discrete from the circuit board and is supported on the circuit board, and a rotation sensor held by the sensor case. The board housing member has an engagement hole and a positioning surface. The sensor case has an engagement convexity corresponding to the engagement hole and an abutting surface corresponding to the positioning surface. When the circuit board has been located in the board housing member, the engagement convexity engages the engagement hole and the abutting surface abuts the positioning surface, resulting in that the rotation sensor is positioned relative to the board housing member.

An electric motor includes a rotor and a stator including a plurality of unit cores each of which has two ends. The unit cores are disposed so that the ends of each unit core are adjacent to the ends of the neighboring unit cores respectively. Each unit core includes a yoke section and a plurality of salient poles which are integral with the yoke section and on which windings are wound respectively. Adjacent portions of the unit cores are selected so that magnetic fluxes passing through the respective adjacent portions are substantially the same.

A molded stator core for an electric motor includes a stator core including a yoke and a plurality of teeth formed on an outer periphery of the yoke, the teeth having different types, and a covering member covering substantially the overall stator core and molded from an insulating resin by pouring the resin through a plurality of gates disposed so as to correspond to the yoke. In the molded stator core, an amount of resin axially flowing from each gate to the corresponding tooth of a first type is approximated to an amount of resin axially flowing from each gate to the corresponding tooth of a second type.

A rotor for an electric motor includes a frame made of a resin and having a cylindrical yoke mounting portion, a base covering one end side of the yoke mounting portion, and a shaft supporting portion located at the center of rotation of the base, all of which are formed integrally with the frame, a rotor yoke mounted on the yoke mounting portion and substantially divided into a plurality of unit yokes, and a plurality of rotor magnets mounted on the yoke mounting portion along the rotor yoke.

A dryer and a method for controlling a dryer for drying items in a rotating drum by supplying hot air therein. In the rotating drum, electrodes are provided in a position at which the items in the rotating drum enable to come into contact with the items. A degree of dryness of the items is detected in accordance with the current passing through the electrodes. When the detected degree of dryness reaches a predetermined level, an untangling operation is carried out. In the untangling operation, a rotation of the rotating drum is controlled in order to untangle a tangled or wrapped state of the items. The drying operation of the dryer is ended in accordance with the detected degree of dryness. The untangling operation can include a forward rotation of the drum followed by stopping the drum. It can also include rotating the drum in a forward direction, then rotating it in a reverse direction and then stopping the drum.

Apparatus and method for controlling reversible dryer

A drying machine has a predrying operation. In the predrying operation before heated air is supplied to the drying chamber to dry clothes in the drying chamber, the drum repeats the rotation of the clockwise and counterclockwise alternately in a short cycle, so that entwined clothes are got loose. During the predrying operation, cool air is supplied to the drying chamber. Then the heated air is supplied to the drying chamber, so that clothes are dried.

Drying machine and method with a predrying object-separating function

A clothes drying machine has a drum where clothes to be dried are placed. A detection electrodes of a degree-of-dryness detecting circuit are positioned in the drum, by which a microcomputer determines whether the clothes are dried. The drying machine has a preset function for in advance setting a time when a drying operation is to be completed. A display, which displays a specific mode when a time reaches the set time, clothes are not dried enough, and the drying operation continues, is provided in the drying machine.

A drying machine has a degree-of-dryness detecting circuit which detects the degree of dryness of clothes in a drying chamber and a temperature detecting circuit which detects the temperature of the air exhausted from the drying chamber. Two heaters are turned on until the degree of dryness reaches 65%. After that, the temperature is controlled in a range of 40.degree. to 53.degree. C. until the degree of dryness reaches 90%. After that, one heater is actuated intermittently so that the temperature of the air which is drawn into the drying chamber decreases.
