Traction control method and apparatus for motor vehicles

The brake control system for use in a vehicle includes a compression cylinder device and a decompression cylinder device, which communicate with a fluid passage between a gate valve and a wheel cylinder. A compression piston is reciprocately disposed inside of the compression cylinder device and a decompression piston is reciprocately disposed inside of the decompression cylinder device. A close valve of a normally close type is provided between the fluid passage and the decompression cylinder device. The system further includes a valve system provided between an accumulator and the compression and decompression cylinder devices. The valve system is provided for selectively supplying the hydraulic pressure in the accumulator to the compression and the decompression cylinder devices during skid-preventing and acceleration slip-preventing controls.

Brake control system and method for a vehicle

The brake control system for use in a vehicle includes a compression cylinder device, which communicates with a fluid passage between a gate valve and a wheel cylinder. A compression piston is reciprocately disposed inside of the compression cylinder device. A cut off valve member is disposed in the compression cylinder device, which closes a fluid supply passage between a fluid chamber of the compression cylinder device and the wheel cylinder of the brake device for the driven wheel. The system further includes a valve system provided between an accumulator and the compression cylinder device. The valve system is provided for selectively supplying the brake fluid pressure in the accumulator to the compression cylinder device during the lock-preventing and acceleration slip-preventing controls.

Deceleration status threshold value setting device determines a deceleration status threshold value. A control unit controls, in a slip-prevention control of the system, the switch valve group to supply hydraulic pressure to the supply-and-exhaust valve group through the decompression valve, and controls the supply-and-exhaust valve group according to the predetermined slipping threshold value to prevent the driving wheels from slipping. In a skid-prevention control, the control unit controls the switch valve group to supply hydraulic pressure not decompressed by the decompression valve to the supply-and-exhaust valve groups, and controls the supply-and-exhaust valve group according to the deceleration status threshold value in order to prevent the driving and driven wheels from skidding.

A hydraulic booster with an antiskid device, comprising a hydraulic booster type pedal responsive device arranged to introduce from an accumulated pressure source, hydraulic pressure the level of which is determined depending on a pedalling force applied to a brake pedal, a master cylinder type control hydraulic pressure generating device which generates control hydraulic pressure according to the hydraulic action of the introduced hydraulic pressure, and a slave cylinder device arranged to generate braking hydraulic pressure by a power piston which moves by receiving the control hydraulic pressure at one end. The slave cylinder device includes an antiskid fluid chamber arranged to exert hydraulic pressure on the power piston in the direction of returning the power piston, and an antiskid control solenoid operated valve device which is disposed in a transmission line for transmitting the introduced hydraulic pressure of the pedal responsive device and is arranged to supply and discharge a pressure fluid to and from the antiskid fluid chamber on the basis of an antiskid signal input.

A system for controlling motor vehicle driving force comprises means for detecting the rotational speed of each of the driving wheels and a driven wheel, means for controlling brake means for the driving wheels according to the output of the detecting means, first comparing means for comparing the rotational speed of the driving wheels with the rotational speed of the driven wheel, calculating means for determining a slipping ratio corresponding to the ratio of the rotational speed of the driving wheels to the rotational speed of the driven wheel, second comparing means for comparing the output of the calculating means with a predetermined threshold slipping ratio, third comparing means for comparing the rotational speed of the driven wheel with a predetermined reference speed, and switching means for connecting the output of the first comparing means to the control means when the rotational speed of the driven wheel is lower than the predetermined reference speed and connecting the output of the second comparing means to the control means when the rotational speed of the driven wheel is higher than the predetermined speed. The switching means is changed by the output of the third comparing means. A method of controlling motor vehicle driving force also is disclosed.

A method of casting a fiber-reinforced caliper wherein inorganic fiber is wound up in a direction parallel to the axis of cylinder around a core conforming approximately to the inside shape of the bridge portion of a caliper, the wound-up fiber is cut off in the shape of the bridge, and matrix metal is cast onto the cut-off molding of fiber under high pressure to form the shape of caliper, or the whole shape of caliper is formed by a casting method after the bridge portion is formed by casting under high pressure.
