This invention relates to a white inkjet ink composition having improved compatibility of functional polymer-stabilized titanium dioxide with binder resins, resulting in significantly slowing down the sedimentation rate, resisting clogging nozzles upon jetting, and enhancing the lightness of the ink coating. The white inkjet ink composition comprises a white colorant; one or more binder resins; one or more compatibilizers; an ink solvent; and optionally one or more additives. The white colorant is modified with a functional copolymer comprising an acid group, such as such as styrene-maleic anhydride, to form a modified white colorant. The presence of the one or more compatibilizers significantly improve the compatibility of the modified white colorant, such as styrene-maleic anhydride stabilized titanium dioxide, with the one or more binder resins.

White inkjet ink composition having improved resin compatibility

Provided herein is an inkjet ink composition comprising an ink solvent, a binder, an additive, and a colorant comprising superparamagnetic or/and paramagnetic surface-modified iron oxide or/and iron hydroxide nanoparticles, wherein the nanoparticles are coated with a layer of silica-based coating or/and a layer of functional polymer. The superparamagnetic property of the nanoparticles ensures no magnetic attraction between the nanoparticles at room temperature, and good dispersion stability in the inkjet ink composition. The inkjet ink composition disclosed herein has excellent printing stability in terms of no flocculation and clogging of nozzle during inkjet printing and shows comparable printing stability with non-pigment ink. Printing on nonporous substrates with the inkjet ink composition disclosed herein has excellent transfer resistance. The inkjet ink composition disclosed herein allows color tuning of the ink through controlling the crystal structures of the nanoparticles.

Solvent based inkjet ink composition

Provided herein is an inkjet ink composition for printing irremovable color trace marks on polymer substrates. The composition disclosed herein comprises a surface colorant, a hydrophobic colorant capable of staining the polymer substrates disclosed herein, a hydrophobic colorant carrier which provides good solubility for the hydrophobic colorant, a binder and an ink solvent system. Printing with the composition disclosed herein on multilayered plastic packaging provides a double layered print. The surface colorants can be removed by an organic solvent, while the hydrophobic colorant can stain the nonporous substrates, giving a watermark of the surface print or an inner layer trace marks, which are highly resistance against chemical and physical stress. The composition disclosed herein also allows color tuning of the trace marks. Attempt to remove the printed information by any physical or chemical means will leave irremovable color trace marks, thus allowing consumers to detect tampered goods.

Inkjet ink composition for printing irremovable trace marks on substrates for enhancing product authenticity and traceability

Method for removal of endotoxin from protein preparations using core-shell nanoparticles, which have the ability to selectively adsorb endotoxin molecules in a protein mixture. The method comprises the steps of (a) preparing a plurality of core-shell nanoparticles; (b) adding the core-shell nanoparticles into a protein preparation containing endotoxin; (c) incubating the core-shell nanoparticles with the protein preparation for a period of time; and (d) separating nanoparticles from the protein preparation.

Removal of endotoxin using amphiphilic core-shell nanosorbents

Amphiphilic, magnetic composite particles are comprised of cores and shells. The core contains both hydrophobic vinylic graft copolymer, hydrophobic vinylic homopolymer and magnetic nanoparticles, and the shell to which the hydrophobic vinylic polymer is grafted is a hydrophilic, nitrogen-containing polymer. Typically, the composite particles are made by a process which involves generating radicals on nitrogen atoms of the water-soluble polymer, and then initiating free-radical copolymerization of said vinylic monomer(s) and vinylic-coated magnetic nanoparticles, whereby vinylic polymer(s) undergo(es) phase separation and the vinylic coated magnetic nanoparticles are encapsulated within the vinylic polymer to form a composite latex.
