A liquid ejecting head and a liquid ejecting apparatus that can suppress the influence of noise on a control signal includes a plurality of terminals for being electrically connected with a contact point provided in a liquid ejecting apparatus, and a liquid ejecting element substrate having a liquid ejecting element formed for ejecting liquid in response to a control signal transmitted from the liquid ejecting apparatus. The plurality of terminals includes signal terminals and ground terminals for control, for controlling the liquid ejecting element, and the signal terminals and the ground terminals for control are arranged at positions closer to the liquid ejecting element substrate than other terminals.

Liquid ejecting head and liquid ejecting apparatus

A liquid ejecting head and a liquid ejecting apparatus are designed so as to suppress the influence of noise on control signals. The liquid ejecting head has a plurality of terminals electrically connected with a contact point provided in the liquid ejecting apparatus, and a liquid ejecting element substrate having a liquid ejecting element formed for ejecting liquid in response to the control signals transmitted from the liquid ejecting apparatus. A power source terminal for drive and a ground terminal for drive, which are provided for driving the liquid ejecting element, are arranged adjacent to each other, and a power source wiring that connects the power source terminal for drive with the liquid ejecting element substrate and a ground wiring that connects the ground terminal for drive with the liquid ejecting element substrate are at least partially arranged in parallel.

Apparatus for charging power storage unit provided in carriage having printhead, and charge control method and storage medium storing program thereof

This invention is directed to real time detection of occurrence of a transfer error and feedback of the detection result to a printing apparatus in consideration of a possible risk that a signal transfer error occurs on a transfer path that becomes longer as the printhead is elongated. To accomplish this, in a printhead configured by cascade-connecting a plurality of element substrates, information of a transfer error detected in real time in each element substrate during transfer of a print data signal is output to an element substrate on the next stage by taking account of information input from an element substrate on the preceding stage. Information containing pieces of information from all element substrates is output from an element substrate on the final stage.

Printhead and printing apparatus utilizing data signal transfer error detection

The present invention is directed to resolve the noise problem with the ink in an ink jet head without changing the substrate manufacturing process for the ink jet head, that is, increasing the cost on the manufacture, and without needs of disposing a noise countermeasure component on the side of the printer main device, or making the design change for the countermeasure. The present invention is characterized in that to prevent malfunction from arising by the noise, a hysteresis circuit to provide different input data threshold values upon rising and falling is provided on an input portion of the signal for a drive control logic system such as a drive input signal for a shift register and a latch circuit on the same substrate as that of the heating elements, the driver and the drive control logic circuit, utilizing a diffusion layer constituting a driver.

The printing head has connection terminals for performing an electrical connection of signals including drive signals of print elements by contacting connection terminals in on an apparatus side when the head is mounted onto an ink jet printing apparatus. Connections of all terminals can be guaranteed by detecting contacts of a part of terminals. Among the terminals in the head, terminals whose distances from the connection terminals in the printing apparatus become maximum when a deviation occurred in the mounting are used as terminals for contact detection. For example, from among the connection terminals arranged in a planar area, which is rectangular-shaped, terminals positioned in corners are used as the terminals for the contact detection. When the contacts of these terminals are detected, the connections of all the terminals inside the area can be guaranteed.
