The present invention provides a superior light-storing printed article, which includes a light-storing printed layer comprising 50-80 wt % of light-storing pigment having D50=22-35 .mu.m and D90=58-80 .mu.m based on the total amount of the light-storing pigment and the binder, and the thickness of the printed layer being 50-150 .mu.m.

A method for making plastic case blanks is disclosed. A molten plastic material is passed through a nip of a first, preforming pair of molding cylinders to form a semi-solidified sheet having a first thickness, The semi-solidified sheet is then molded to form a final sheet having a second, uniform thickness less than the first thickness and the final sheet is scored to form folding scores and cut to form a plurality of the blanks. The molding, scoring and cutting are simultaneously performed by passing the semi-solidified sheet through a nip of a second pair of cylinders. One of the second pair of cylinders has scoring means for forming the folding scores in the final sheet and cutting means for cutting the final sheet to form the plurality of the blanks and the other of the second pair of cylinders has recess means complementary to the cutting means for receiving the cutting means and effectuating the cutting.

Method for manufacturing plastic case

In making a plastic case from a molten plastic material, a molten sheet of the material is passed through a nip of a pair of molding cylinders to form a sheet of desired thickness which in turn cut into blanks. A half tone indication is formed by using a cylinder having an indication-forming part which is comprised of a mat surface and a number of elongated projections having a glossy top surface. Half tone is obtained by this simple process.

A tape cassette having a head-receiving housing region provided with an independent guide block which contains a plurality of tape guides, further comprises a pair of thick spacer plate members disposed, respectively, between the guide block and the upper and lower half housing sections of the cassette. The spacer plate members are made of a material suitably chosen from among metals, metal-plastics composites, carbon fibers, glass fibers, composite reinforced plastics containing mica or other reinforcements, and the like. They have a plurality of irregularly shaped apertures or positioning apertures each which receive posts formed in one piece with the upper and lower half housing sections of the cassette and are fixed in position with the posts by caulking. The guide block has portions with which to press the thick spacer plate members securely against the respective half housing sections of the cassette.

A magnetic tape cassette housing is divided into a major part and a rear frame member attached to the rear end of the major part. The major part is divided into a pair of side frame members which are formed of a material of low friction coefficient and a main body surrounded and held together by the side frame members and rear frame member. The housing is of double-layer structure consisting of inside and outside layers. The inside layers are formed with steps along the edges of the side frame members and the rear frame member, and the outside layers are so formed as to fall onto the steps and extend inwardly of the edges of the side frame members. The main body and side frame members are formed with mutually engageable, temporary fasteners. The outer surface of the outside layer is satin crape finished and at least the interface between the inside and outside layers mirror finished.

A magnetic tape cassette has in the front portion of the housing two pairs of fixed tape guide ribs protruding the same length frontwardly of the housing to define a guide path for the magnetic tape and also protruding so as to form linear front edges of a height greater than the width of the tape, the fixed tape guide ribs in at least one pair being formed adjacent to each other, with the upper and lower ends of the protruding front edges being integrally joined by bridges of the same material. The bridges are formed to have a given, constant width and a given, constant height upwardly and downwardly.

A disc cartridge capable of preventing a recording surface section of a disc from being contacted with an inner surface of a casing so that the disc may be free from any damage. The disc cartridge includes steps or sheet-like members provided on the inner surface of the casing in a manner to be inwardly projected from the inner surface. The steps or sheet-like members are positioned so as to be engaged with a non-recording surface section of the disc to support the disc thereon, so that a clearance may be defined between the recording surface section of the disc and the inner surface of the casing.

A tape cassette is provided which is so constructed that a plurality of weighting members are fittedly held in fitting apertures or recesses of a casing formed at corners of the casing in a detachable manner while being exposed at part thereof on a surface of the casing. Such construction of the cassette not only permits the cassette to exhibit optimum vibration-damping properties to ensure satisfactory recording and reproducing of the cassette and contributes an improvement in mechanical strength of the cassette but provides the cassette with a variation in design sufficient to exhibit good aesthetic properties, to thereby increase a merchandise value of the cassette.

A case consisting of a cover and a case body adapted to mate to form a space for holding a given object has an outside and/or inside layer made wholly or partly of a thermoplastic elastomeric resin. The outside layer is formed of a thermoplastic elastomeric material selected from the group consisting of styrenic, olefinic, esteric, urethanic, polybutadienic, and vinyl chloride type thermoplastic elastomeric materials, and the inside layer is formed of a plastic material selected from the group consisting of polymethyl methacrylate, acrylonitrile-styrene copolymer, polycarbonate, acrylonitrile-butadiene-styrene, polystyrene, polybutylene terephthalate, high-impact polystyrene and the like, or vice versa.

Case

A cleaning cassette capable of accomplishing a safe and positive cleaning operation while ensuring smooth and stable running of a cleaning tape. The cleaning cassette includes a tape passing mechanism arranged at a front portion of a casing for ensuring satisfactory traveling of the cleaning tape while reducing contact between the cleaning tape and a head cylinder of a cassette tape deck. The mechanism includes a pair of rollers through which the cleaning tape is passed, a support member for supporting each of the rollers at each of its respective ends such that each roller can rotate and a pair of partitions provided between insertion recesses of the casing. The support member on which the rollers are supported in a manner to be laterally spaced from each other is loosely fitted between the partitions so as to reciprocatively movable in a longitudinal direction of the casing or protrude from the casing and retract into the casing when loading and unloading of the cassette with respect to the cassette tape deck is carried out, respectively.

A tape cassette capable of ensuring firm joining between different resin layers of a casing and exhibiting a good aesthetic property. The tape cassette includes a casing consisting of upper casing member and lower casing member which are integrally made into a two-layer structure of a primary resin layer and a secondary resin layer integrally formed by two-layer molding. The secondary resin layer is formed with a plurality of penetrations and the primary resin layer is joined to the secondary resin layer in a manner to be fitted in the penetrations, resulting in being integral with the secondary resin layer.
