A napped artificial leather includes: a fiber-entangled body obtained by entangling ultrafine fibers; and an elastic polymer impregnated into the fiber-entangled body. The napped artificial leather has, on at least one side thereof, a napped surface formed by napping the ultrafine fibers. The ultrafine fibers contain 0.2 to 8 mass % of carbon black and 0.1 to 5 mass % of a chromatic pigment, and a total ratio of the carbon black and the chromatic pigment is 0.3 to 10 mass %. A content ratio of the elastic polymer is 0.1 to 15 mass % in the napped artificial leather. The elastic polymer is uncolored and the ultrafine fibers are undyed.

Napped artificial leather and method for producing the same

Disclosed is a napped artificial leather including: a non-woven fabric containing polyester fibers having an average fineness of 0.07 to 0.9 dtex; and an elastic polymer applied in the non-woven fabric, wherein the polyester fibers contain 0.5 to 10 mass % of a dark color pigment, the napped artificial leather has a napped surface on which the polyester fibers on at least one side thereof are napped, and the napped surface has a lightness L* value based on the L*a*b* color system, of ≤20, and the napped artificial leather has a peel strength of 3 kg/cm or more, and a grade of color difference, determined using a Grey scale for assessing staining in an evaluation of color migration to a multifiber adjacent fabric (co-woven fabric No. 1; the same applied to the following) during pressurization under heating in a wet state under a load of 4 kPa at 200° C. for 60 seconds, of 4 or more.

Napped artificial leather

Disclosed is a grain-finished artificial leather including an artificial leather base material, and a grain layer stacked on the artificial leather base material. The artificial leather base material includes a fiber-entangled body including ultrafine fibers having an average fineness of 0.4 dtex or less, an elastic polymer, and fine particles having an average particle size of 10 &#x3bc;m or less. The content ratio of the fine particles is 10 to 40 mass %, and the ratio of the elastic polymer to the total amount of the elastic polymer and the fine particles is 20 to 80 mass %. Also, a total of an apparent density of the elastic polymer and an apparent density of the fine particles is 0.23 to 0.55 g/cm.

Grained artificial leather and method for manufacturing grained artificial leather

Disclosed is a grain-finished artificial leather including: an artificial leather base material; and a resin layer stacked on at least one surface of the artificial leather base material, wherein the artificial leather base material contains: a fiber-entangled body of ultrafine fibers; 3 to 50 mass % of a first elastic polymer; 2.5 to 6 mass %, in terms of phosphorus atoms, of first phosphorous-based flame retardant particles having an average particle size of 1 to 10 &#x3bc;m; and 1 to 6 mass % of a plasticizer, and the resin layer contains: a second elastic polymer; and a total content, in terms of phosphorus atoms or in terms of hydroxyl groups, of 0 to 8 mass % of flame retardant particles having an average particle size of 1 to 10 &#x3bc;m and being at least one selected from the group consisting of second phosphorous-based flame retardant particles and first metal hydroxide particles.

Grained artificial leather

A (semi)grain-finished leather-like sheet composed of an entangled nonwoven fabric of three-dimensionally entangled fiber bundles containing microfine long fibers and an elastic polymer contained in the entangled nonwoven fabric. When dividing the (semi)grain-finished leather-like sheet to five layers with equal thickness, i.e., surface layer, substrate layer, substrate layer, substrate layerand back layer in this order along the thickness direction, part of the microfine long fibers forming the surface layer and/or the back layer are fuse-bonded to each other and the microfine long fibers forming the intermediate layer are not fuse-bonded. With such a fuse-bonding state of the microfine long fibers, the (semi)grain-finished leather-like sheet combines a low compression resistance and a dense feel each comparable to natural leathers, has a sufficient practical strength, and are excellent in properties which are required according to its use.

Leather-like sheet bearing grain finish and process for producing the same

It is an object of the present invention to provide a polishing pad that is resistant to scratching and also has excellent flattening performance. One aspect of the present invention is a polishing pad, comprising a fiber-entangled body formed from fiber bundles made up of ultrafine fibers in which the average cross sectional area is between 0.01 and 30 &#x3bc;m, and a macromolecular elastomer, wherein part of the macromolecular elastomer is present inside the fiber bundles, whereby the ultrafine fibers are bundled, the number of fiber bundles per unit of surface area present in a cross section in the thickness direction is at least 600 bundles per square millimeter, and the volumetric ratio of a portion excluding voids is between 55 and 95%.

Polishing pad, and method for manufacturing polishing pad

A leather-like sheet composed of a microfine-fiber entangled body made of bundles of microfine fibers and an elastic polymer impregnated therein. The bundles of microfine fibers are composed of microfine monofibers having an average cross-sectional area of 0.1 to 30 &#x3bc;mand have an average cross-sectional area of 40 to 400 &#x3bc;m. The bundles of microfine fibers exist in a density of 600 to 4000/mmon a cross section taken along the thickness direction of the microfine-fiber entangled body. The elastic polymer contains 30 to 100% by mass of a polymer of ethylenically unsaturated monomer. The polymer of ethylenically unsaturated monomer is composed of a soft component having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of less than &#x2212;5&#xb0; C., a crosslinkable component, and optionally a hard component having a glass transition temperature (Tg) of higher than 50&#xb0; C. and another component. The polymer of ethylenically unsaturated monomer is bonded to the microfine fibers in the bundles of microfine fibers. The leather-like sheet has a flexibility and hand such as dense feeling each resembling natural leathers and a high quality appearance. The leather-like sheet is highly stable in quality such as fastness and surface abrasion resistance and excellent in practical performance.

Leather-like sheet and method of manufacturing the same

A method of producing an entangled sheet of microfine long fibers using long fibers for forming microfine fibers. The method includes a step of forming a long-fiber web made of long fibers for forming microfine fibers, at least one component of the long fibers being a water-soluble, thermoplastic polyvinyl alcohol resin; a step of entangling the long-fiber web to form a long-fiber entangled sheet; a step of shrinking the long-fiber entangled sheet to form a long-fiber shrunk sheet; and a step of converting the long fibers for forming microfine fibers in the long-fiber shrunk sheet to microfine long fibers, thereby producing the entangled sheet of microfine long fibers. The step of entangling is conducted so as to allow the long-fiber entangled sheet to have an interlaminar peel strength of 2 kg/2.5 cm or more. The step of shrinking is conducted so as to shrink in an areal shrinkage of 35% or more.

Process for producing intertwined ultrafine filament sheet

The suede artificial leather of the present invention comprises a three-dimensional entangled body comprising a superfine fiber having a fineness of 0.2 dtex or less and an elastomeric polymer A, and satisfies the requirements (1) to (4) as specified in the specification. By meeting the requirements, the suede artificial leather acquires excellent color fastness to light and color development in a wide range of colors and a high quality with good suede feeling, surface touch, hand, mechanical properties and color fastness.

Provided are a leather-like sheet fabricated by infiltrating an aqueous resin dispersion (A) into a fibrous substrate, which satisfies a requirement (I) that the aqueous resin dispersion, (A) comprises essentially a main resin (a) stabilized with a surfactant, a polymer (b) having a polyoxyethylene group in its side chains, and a surfactant (c), a requirement (II) that the main resin (a) comprises an urethane resin (a1) and/or an urethane-acrylic composite resin (a2), and the resin skeleton contains from 1 to 10 mmols of a carboxyl group per 100 g of the resin, a requirement (III) that the polymer (b) is obtained through polymerization of a polyoxyethylene group-having ethylenic unsaturated monomer (b1) and any other ethylenic unsaturated monomer (b2) in a ratio by mass (b1)/(b2)=60/40 to 100/0, and a requirement (IV) that the percentage, % by mass (&#x3b1;) of the polyoxyethylene group in the polymer (b) and the number of mols (&#x3b2;) of the amino group per gram of the polymer (b) satisfy 35&#x2266;&#x3b1;+&#x3b2;&#xd7;20000&#x2266;60; and an industrial advantageous method for producing the sheet. The leather-like sheet has a good feel and good physical properties.

Artificial leather and method of producing the same

A fibrous substrate for artificial leather, containing microfine fiber bundles, each of which is composed of 3-50 microfine fibers (A) containing an elastic polymer and having an average fineness of 0.5 denier or less and 15 or more microfine fibers (B) containing a non-elastic polymer and having an average fineness of 0.2 denier or less.
