A heat releasing unit includes heat releasing constituents which are stacked and are joined together while heat releasing flow passages are formed in the heat releasing constituents, respectively. An evaporating unit includes evaporating constituents which are stacked and are joined together, while evaporating flow passages are formed in the evaporating constituents, respectively. The evaporating unit and the heat releasing unit are arranged one after another in a direction along a side plate portion. A heat releasing unit outlet is formed at an outlet-side heat releasing constituent that is one of the heat releasing constituents placed at an end thereof. An evaporating unit inlet is formed at an inlet-side evaporating constituent that is one of the evaporating constituents placed at an end thereof. All of the heat releasing flow passages are connected to the evaporating flow passages through the heat releasing unit outlet and the evaporating unit inlet.

Heat exchanger

A heat exchange apparatus includes a heat exchanger through which a heat exchange medium flows inside, a fluid transport device that causes the heat exchange medium to flow, and a flow path through which the heat exchange medium flows. The heat exchange apparatus includes a flow rate controller configured to increase or decrease the flow rate of the heat exchange medium flowing through the flow path, and a driving part that drives the flow rate controller by receiving a force from the flow of the heat exchange medium flowing through the flow path.

Heat exchange apparatus

A bonding structure includes a first member, a second member and a bonding member. The first member has a plate shape and is made of a carbon-base material. The first member serves as a heat diffusion member that transfers heat at least in a thickness direction, which is perpendicular to a plane of the plate shape. The second member is bonded to the first member through the bonding member. The first member has a metal thin film at least on an opposed surface that is opposed to the second member. The bonding member is disposed between the opposed surface of the first member and the second member. The bonding member is provided by a sintered body of metal particle. For example, the bonding structure is employed in a cooling unit including a heat source.

Heat is exchanged between exhaust gas passing through a plurality of tubes and cooling water passing through a plurality of passages defined outside of the plurality of tubes layered with each other. A heat exchanger includes a temperature decreasing portion arranged in a predetermined area on an outer surface of the tube adjacent to an inlet side of exhaust gas. The temperature decreasing portion is configured to decrease a temperature of a thermal boundary layer of the outer surface of the tube relative to cooling water by increasing a heat transmitting ratio between the outer surface of the tube and cooling water.

Exhaust gas heat exchanger

An exhaust heat recovery device is provided with an evaporation portion for evaporating an operation fluid flowing therein by performing heat exchange with exhaust gas of an engine, a condensation portion for condensing the operation fluid flowing from the evaporation portion by performing heat exchange with coolant of the engine, and a flow adjusting portion for adjusting a flow amount of the operation fluid flowing from the condensation portion to the evaporation portion. A catalyst temperature detector is adapted to detect a temperature of a catalyst for purifying the exhaust gas, and a control unit sets a catalyst heating mode when the detected temperature of the catalyst is lower than a threshold value. Furthermore, the control unit causes the flow adjusting portion to adjust the flow amount of the operation fluid from the condensation portion to the evaporation portion at zero, in the catalyst heating mode.

Exhaust heat recovery device

A waste heat recovery device includes a heat pipe in which a working fluid for transporting heat is enclosed, and a mode-switching valve for switching a heat recovery mode and a heat insulation mode. The heat pipe has a heating part for heating and evaporating the working fluid and a cooling part for cooling and condensing the evaporated working fluid. The heating part is made of a steel through which hydrogen gas permeates about at 500&#xb0; C. and higher. In the heat recovery mode, the waste heat recovery device recovers heat of exhaust gas by using the heat pipe. Furthermore, in the heat insulation mode, a heat transport from the heating part to the cooling part is stopped.

An exhaust heat recovery apparatus includes an evaporation unit, a condensation unit, an evaporation-side communication part and a condensation-side communication part. The evaporation unit is disposed in a duct member through which an exhaust gas generated from an engine flows, and evaporates an operation fluid by heat of the exhaust gas. The condensation unit is disposed in a coolant passage through which a coolant flows, and condenses the operation fluid by radiating the heat to the coolant. The evaporation-side communication part connects the evaporation unit and the condensation unit for introducing evaporated operation fluid to the condensation unit. The condensation-side communication part connects the condensation unit and the evaporation unit for introducing condensed operation fluid to the evaporation unit. The condensation-side communication part is in contact with an outer surface of the duct member at least at a part.

Vehicular exhaust heat recovery apparatus with frozen working fluid melting

An exhaust heat recovery apparatus includes an evaporation unit and a condensation unit communicated with the evaporation unit such that an operation fluid circulates therein. The evaporation unit is disposed in a first fluid passage through which a first fluid flows, and performs heat exchange between the first fluid and the operation fluid, thereby evaporating the operation fluid. The condensation unit is disposed in a second fluid passage through which a second fluid flows, and performs heat exchange between the second fluid and the operation fluid. The exhaust heat recovery apparatus further includes a wet area increasing member in a tube of the evaporation unit for increasing a wet area of the operation fluid due to surface tension of the operation fluid. The wet area increasing member is disposed adjacent to an inner surface of the tube and has extension surfaces extending in directions intersecting with the inner surface.

Exhaust heat recovery apparatus

A counter-stream-mode oscillating-flow heat transport apparatus improves heat transport capability by imparting oscillatory displacement to a fluid located near a heat-generating element such that the fluid is directed toward the heat-generating element. Turning portions of serpentine flow paths are disposed to face the heat-generating element. The flow paths are stacked in multiple layers in the direction from the heat-generating element to the flow paths, and a plurality of flow paths are disposed adjacent to the heat-generating element in the direction of fluid oscillation.

Counter-stream-mode oscillating-flow heat transport apparatus

An exhaust heat recovery device includes an accommodating portion extending continuously without shrinking a section therein and adapted to allow exhaust gas of an internal combustion engine to pass therethrough, a catalyst disposed in the accommodating portion for cleaning the exhaust gas, an evaporator disposed adjacent to the catalyst on a downstream side of an exhaust gas flow in the accommodating portion, and a condenser for condensing the working medium by radiating heat of the working medium flowing thereinto from the evaporator so as to recover exhaust heat on the coolant side. The condenser is located to return the condensed working medium to the evaporator.

An exhaust heat recovery device includes an evaporator for evaporating working medium sealed thereinto by exhaust heat from an internal combustion engine, a condenser for cooling the working medium evaporated at the evaporator, and a communication portion for communicating the evaporator with the condenser in an annular shape. The exhaust heat recovery device further includes an internal pressure operating valve adapted to be closed when a pressure of the working medium is equal to or more than a predetermined pressure, and a temperature operating valve adapted to be closed when a temperature of the coolant is equal to or more than a predetermined temperature. The internal pressure operating valve and the temperature operating valve are disposed between a downstream side of the condenser and an upstream side of the evaporator.

The fluid drive unit includes a cylinder communicating with both end portions of a meandering passage formed in the heat transport device. In the cylinder, the piston is slidably arranged being capable of sliding in the axial direction. Fluid is charged in the spaces, which are provided on both sides of the piston, connected to the meandering passage. The solenoid coil, which is provided in the periphery of the side of the cylinder, periodically inverts the magnetic poles and reciprocates the piston in the cylinder. To drive the piston smoothly and reduce the amount of eccentricity, a pair of sliding members are provided at the end portions of the piston. When the fluid in the passage is vibrated by the movement of the piston, the apparent heat conductivity of the heat transport device is enhanced, and heat is quickly diffused from the heating body to the radiating portion.
