A substrate conveyance mechanism that includes conveyance units and a working area length change part to easily change the types of substrates to allow substrates of different lengths to be selected to mount electronic components onto the substrate. The conveyance units include a working area for substrates having different length that are conveyed from a stand-by area, an area length of the working area that is variable in accordance with the length of the substrate, and a stand-by unit corresponding to a stand-by area for the substrate to be carried in to the working area. The working area length change part changes an interval between a commonly used first pulley and one of a plurality of second pulleys selectively used in accordance with the area length of the working area by changing a belt winding path of a conveyance belt wound on the pulleys in the working unit.

Substrate conveyance mechanism and component mounting method

The present invention is intended to realize a hold posture inspection of a plurality of components sucked by a plurality of nozzle rows provided on a head with a single scanning operation, thereby reducing the time for the hold posture inspection and improving the accuracy thereof. In order to achieve such objections, the present invention includes: a head on which at least two nozzle rows are disposed, each of which includes at least one nozzle; a circuit board holding unit for holding a circuit board on which components conveyed by the head are mounted; and an inspection unit, provided on a moving path of the head from a supplying unit to the circuit board holding unit, for inspecting hold postures of the components held by the nozzles of the head and including sensors for posture inspection independent for the respective nozzle rows.

Component mounting apparatus

A component mounting apparatus having a work conveyor-positioner unit is arranged on a supporting base to convey and position a substrate in an X direction. Supporting frames extend vertically from ends of the supporting base and face each other in a Y direction. The component mounting apparatus further includes a plurality of Y-axis tables extending between upper ends of the supporting frames, X-axis tables attached to movable portions of the Y-axis tables, and operating heads attached to movable portions of the X-axis tables to perform operations with respect to the substrate on the work conveyor-positioner unit. Each of the plurality of the Y-axis tables includes a movable portion at a lower part. Each of the X-axis tables includes a movable portion at a lower part and the operating heads are attached to a lower part of the movable portion of the X-axis tables.

Cassettes contain electronic parts. First and second feeders are operative for feeding the electronic parts from the cassettes. A first mounting head has sucking nozzles for picking up the electronic parts fed by the first feeder. A second mounting head has sucking nozzles for picking up the electronic parts fed by the second feeder. A table arrangement is operative for holding a printed circuit board. The first and second mounting heads are alternately moved along a first direction to a region above the printed circuit board on the table arrangement. The table arrangement includes a mechanism for moving the printed circuit board on the table arrangement in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction. Also, the table arrangement includes a mechanisms for rotating the printed circuit board on the table arrangement about an axis perpendicular to both the first and second directions. The sucking nozzles of the first mounting head place the electronic parts on the printed circuit board on the table arrangement when the first mounting head is in the region above the printed circuit board. The sucking nozzles of the second mounting head place the electronic parts on the printed circuit board on the table arrangement when the second mounting head is in the region above the printed circuit board.
