A molding unit includes: a flask guide member guiding the upper flask and the lower flask; a first squeeze member and a second squeeze member disposed in such a manner as to sandwich upper and lower flasks as the upper flask and the lower flask connected with each other, the first squeeze member and the second squeeze guide member each capable of entering the upper and lower flasks; a squeeze cylinder including a rod having an end part fixed to the first squeeze member and a cylinder body extending and contracting the rod; and a squeeze guide member configured to fix relative positions of the second squeeze guide member and the cylinder body. The flask guide member is a hollow rod member, and the squeeze guide member is a rod member disposed in a movable manner inside the flask guide member.

Equipment and a method, therefore, for molding a mold with a molding flask, having a device for introducing molding sand that introduces molding sand into a molding flask and a filling frame, using compressed air, the molding flask and the filling frame being mounted on a model plate in a superimposed state; a shielding device having a plurality of feet that can enter the filling frame and can be temporarily held at positions that are spaced apart at predetermined distances from a model part of the model plate, which model part faces the plurality of feet. The equipment further includes a squeezing device provided adjacent to the device for introducing molding sand, which squeezing device squeezes the molding sand in the molding flask and the filling frame, and a transfer device for carrying the model plate, the molding flask and the filling frame into and out of both the device for introducing molding sand and the squeezing device.

A method of producing a sand mold, comprising: after defining a mold space at least by a pattern plate, a flask, and a squeeze means, and after blow-charging molding sand held in a sand blowing device located above the mold space into the mold space by ejecting a first compressed air near sand ejecting ports of the sand blowing device thereby fluidizing the molding sand near the sand ejecting ports, while supplying a second compressed air to a surface of the molding sand held in the sand blowing device, moving the squeeze means toward the pattern plate, where in the pressure of the first compressed air and the period of time for supplying the first compressed air are adjusted to produce a good sand mold. To determine the period of time for ejecting the first compressed air, the distance of the movement of the squeeze feet toward the pattern plate is measured when the squeeze of the molding sand in the mold space is completed, and the difference between the measured distance and a target distance is calculated. The period is adjusted to be a shorter or lengthened one based on the result of the calculation.

Method and device for filling casting sand

A method for introducing and compacting molding sand S in a mold space defined by a pattern plate ( ), a lower auxiliary frame ( ), a flask ( ), a filling frame ( ), and multi-segmented squeeze feet ( ). First, the molding sand S is introduced into the mold space. The squeeze feet ( ) are then lowered to apply a first squeeze to the mold sand S in the mold space under a condition wherein at least the lower frame ( ) cannot be lowered. A method for compacting molding sand in a mold space defined by a pattern plate, which is fixed in a horizontal position when the molding sand is compacted, a leveling frame disposed for vertical sliding movement around the outer periphery of the pattern plate, a frame member disposed for vertical movement above the leveling frame, and a filling frame disposed for vertical movement above the frame member. The method comprises the steps of feeding molding sand into the mold space, primarily compacting the molding sand in the mold space from above by compacting means while at least the leveling frame is being set so that it cannot be lowered, and secondarily compacting the molding sand in the mold space from above by the compacting means while the leveling frame, the frame member, and the filling frame are set so that these elements can be lowered.

A molding system to make a sand mold with a frame is provided to receive the lateral loads generated when molding frames are fed out and in by nearby apparatuses and to prevent vibrations generated during a molding operation from being transmitted to nearby apparatuses, so that the area around a factory is prevented from being degraded and so that apparatuses can be easily affixed. Apparatus for making mold

Molding sand filled in a space defined by a pattern plate and a flask is pre-compacted before the molding sand is completely pressed. A pre-compacting member is inserted into the molding sand toward the pattern plate, and then is stopped based on a predetermined depth of the pre-compacting member in the molding sand or a predetermined pressure caused by the pre-compacting member in the molding sand.

Method and apparatus for pre-compacting molding sand

The machine includes a lifter table for lifting a pattern plate and flask which hold molding sand and a pre-compacting member and a pressing member disposed above the lifter table for horizontal movement and for being inserted into the flask when the lifter table lifts the flask. The pre-compacting member includes a thin-plate body to be positioned slightly spaced apart from an inner surface of the flask or inner and outer surfaces of a pattern when inserted into the molding sand held in the flask. The pressing member includes a squeezing body that presses the molding sand from above.

Molding machine

Sand is charged into two spaces defined by a match plate, a pair of flasks, and a pair of squeeze plates, and is then compressed by moving the squeeze plates in the flasks toward the match plate to form the cope and drag molds. The properties of the molding sand are detected during the forming of the molds in order to suitably adjust the sand and the device. The device includes linear encoders connected to the squeeze plates so as to detect the amounts of the movements of the squeeze plates, and an electrode penetrating one squeeze plate so as to detect the electric resistance or the water-content value of the mold in the flask.
