An antenna unit includes at least one transmission antenna and plural reception antennas. A receiver detects information including azimuth information for a target, based on an output from the antenna unit. An antenna switching unit switches connections between a transmitter and the transmission antenna and between the reception antenna and the receiver. The antenna unit includes a wide-beam array antenna and plural narrow-beam array antennas having a narrower beam width than the array antenna. A monopulse process is performed based on an output of a predetermined pair of array antennas from among the array antennas formed as the narrow-beam array antennas.

Monopulse radar apparatus and antenna switch

A radar device includes a code generator, a transmission section, a reception section, a delay section, a despreading process section, a correlation value detection section, a target detection section, an estimation section, an acquisition section, and a correction section. The estimation section estimates a reception intensity of a reflection wave from a target located at a first distance on a basis of a detected correlation value. The acquisition section acquires a cross-correlation value between the first distance and a second distance, on a basis of the estimated reception intensity of the reflection wave from the target located at the first distance, a delayed despreading code used to detect a correlation value for the first distance and a delayed despreading code used to detect a correlation value for the second distance. The correction section corrects the correlation value for the second distance on a basis of the cross-correlation value.

Radar device

A target determination apparatus for determining type of a target, includes a transmission unit, a reception unit, and a determination unit. The transmission unit emits an electromagnetic wave. The reception unit receives the electromagnetic wave reflected at the target to obtain reception information. The determination unit determines the type of the target on the basis of radar cross section obtained from the reception information.

Target determination apparatus, target judgment apparatus, and determination aid apparatus

A transmission wave is transmitted to a target from a transmission section. A receiving section receives a wave reflected from the target as a received wave. A conversion section converts a time difference between the transmission time at which a transmission wave is transmitted and the receiving time at which a received wave is received in to a voltage. The thus-obtained voltage is subjected to analog-to-digital conversion by means of a processing circuit, whereby a distance is computed.

Radar

When collision detection unit such as a G sensor or a radar sensor detects a collision of a two-wheeled vehicle with a car body, a protection determination unit determines the necessity for protection. When it is determined that protection is required, at least one protection net are unfolded in response to the strength of the collision, etc. If the human body of the driver, passenger, etc., of the two-wheeled vehicle attempts to jump the car body in the collision, the human body can be caught in the protection net for making it possible to prevent a secondary disaster from occurring.

Vehicle protection apparatus at collision time

An object detecting device is provided whereby the number and size of detected objects can be determined without making the construction of the device more complex and the cost of components higher. The object detecting device includes multiple transmitter-receivers for transmitting radio waves and receiving reflected waves, each of the transmitter-receivers receiving both a reflected wave of a radio wave transmitted by itself and reflected waves of radio waves transmitted by other transmitter-receivers, a path-by-path reception distance computing unit for computing the path-by-path reception distance of every reflected wave and an object determination element for determining the number and/or size of detected objects based on the relationship between the reception distances computed by the path-by-path reception distance computing unit.

Object detecting device

A transmission-reception apparatus includes a transmission section, a reception section, a transmission control section, a signal detection section, and an operation determination section. The transmission section transmits a signal to a surrounding space. The reception section receives the signal from the surrounding space. The transmission control section controls the transmission section to transmit the signal in a pulse shape. The signal detection section detects level of the signal received by the reception section. The operation determination section determines as to whether or not a timing at which the level of the received signal exceeds a first determination level is within a first time period on the basis of detection result and a timing at which the transmission control section controls the transmission section to transmit the signal in the pulse shape, to determine as to whether or not the transmission section and the reception section operate normally.
