An information processing apparatus includes a memory and processor. The memory stores a trouble category into which a trouble occurring in a product is classified and a design-element category into which a design element causing the trouble and included in the product is classified in mutual association and store a design-element category into which a design element included in a product is classified and a design-requirement category into which a design requirement of the design element is classified in association with each other. The processor receives designation of a first design-element category by user, determines a design-requirement category corresponding to the received first design-element category by referencing to the memory, determines a second design-element category corresponding to the determined design-requirement category and different from the first design-element category, determine a trouble category associated with the determined second design-element category, and notify the user of information indicating the determined trouble category.

A design support system includes memory, a receiving unit, and an associating unit. The memory stores information on design element classification that classifies a design element included in a product, and information on design requirement classification that classifies a design requirement required for the product. The receiving unit receives technical information regarding a design trouble. An electrolyte is interposed between a work piece which is made of a conductive material, and an electrode. Through application of an electrolysis voltage between the work piece and the electrode with the electrolyte interposed between them, a passive state film is formed on the surface of a to-be-cut part of the work piece. Method and apparatus for cutting plate-shaped brittle material

A method for fabricating a metal member having a plurality or multitude of fine holes comprises forming a repeatedly usable master which includes a conductive substrate and non-conductive portions used to form the fine holes and fixedly deposited on the conductive substrate, subjecting the master to electrodeposition to form an electrodeposition film which has non-electrodeposited fine holes in position corresponding to the non-conductive portions, and separating the electrodeposition film from the master. In the master formation step, the non-conductive portions are so formed to have projections from the surface of the conductive substrate. The electrodeposition is effected so that the electrodeposition film is deposited about the side surfaces of each projection as exposing at least a top of the projection. The fine holes of the separated electrodeposition film have invariably a constant dimensional accuracy without suffering any influence of the electrodeposition conditions. The formation density of the fine holes is free of any limitation as will be caused by the thickness of the electrodeposition film.
