A thermoforming device according to the present invention has a masking plate and a heater block. A plurality of the heater blocks are disposed with a space therebetween in a planar direction of the masking plate. The thickness of the masking plate is 0.2-3.0 mm. The distance of the space is 1-15 mm, and the distance of the space is set at least five times larger than the thickness of the masking plate. Heat to be transmitted to the masking plate from a high temperature heater block is more easily transmitted in the thickness direction of the masking plate than in the surface direction of the masking plate, and is more easily transmitted to the sheet than to a portion, of the masking plate, corresponding to a low temperature heater block, whereby a temperature difference is provided between different zones of the masking plate.

Thermoforming device and thermoforming method

A garnish includes a heating element, a base member, and a circuit board. The heating element is configured by stacking first and second sheet materials and interposing a heater wire in between. The circuit board includes a power source line and is fixed to a back surface of the base member. The heating element includes a main body portion and an extending portion. The extending portion includes a power source connection portion for connecting the heater wire to the power source line and extends to the back surface of the base member. The main body portion of the heating element is fixed to a laying surface of the base member by fixing the second sheet material to the base member. The heater wire is exposed in the power source connection portion without stacking the second sheet material on the first sheet material.

The radio-wave transparent cover includes a plastic transparent layer, a decorative layer provided on the rear-side surface of the transparent layer, and a plastic base layer provided on the rear-side surface of the decorative layer. There is provided a near-infrared sensor cover to be applied to a near-infrared sensor including a transmitting unit that transmits near-infrared radiation and a receiving unit that receives near-infrared radiation reflected by an object. The near-infrared sensor cover includes a cover main body portion disposed with a thickness direction thereof to be coincide with a transmission and reception direction of the near-infrared radiation and covering the transmitting unit and the receiving unit, and a heater wire disposed on the cover main body portion to generate heat when energized. The heater wire includes plural straight line portions that extend in parallel to each other and plural connection portions that connect end portions of adjacent straight line portions. A radio-wave transmitting cover is configured to be arranged in the path of the radio wave of a radio-wave radar device. The thickness of the cover is set to a reference thickness at a reference position where the incident angle of the radio wave from the radio-wave radar device is 0&#xb0;. The reference thickness is set to a value obtained by multiplying half of the wavelength of the radio wave by an integer. In the area around the reference position, the thickness of the cover is gradually changed such that the greater the distance from the reference position, the greater becomes the difference by which the thickness of the cover is larger than the reference thickness.

The present invention provides a method of manufacturing a decorative molding with a capability to decorate a large component to be decorated. The method includes pressing a heated pressing member against an area to be decorated having a plurality of spaced-apart surface sections to be decorated, with a transfer sheet interposed between the pressing member and the area to be decorated, to transfer decorative layers to the surface section to be decorated. The area to be decorated has a maximum width of not less than 400 mm. The pressing member has a pressing surface configured to come in contact with the transfer sheet and constituted by a rubber piece shaped into a flat plate. The rubber piece has a hardness of not more than 80 degrees and a thickness of not less than 3 mm, and is curved to fit a general surface shape of the area to be decorated.

Method of manufacturing decorative molding

A plated resin product includes a resin base including main plated portions and an auxiliary plated portion and metal films respectively arranged on the main plated portions and the auxiliary plated portion. The main plated portions are arranged next to one another. One of the two main plated portions located at two ends in a direction in which the main plated portions are arranged includes an edge at a portion located at a side of the main plated portion that is far from an adjacent one of the main plated portions. The auxiliary plated portion is located farther from the adjacent main plated portion than the main plated portion including the edge and spaced apart from that main plated portion. The metal film on the auxiliary plated portion is located at a section of the auxiliary plated portion that is non-visible when the product is viewed from the front.

A front grille includes a grille body having vertical fins and lateral fins each having a decorative surface formed on the front surface. The grille body has an attachment portion to which a decorative molding having a decorative surface formed on the front surface is attached. The front grille is used in one of a form in which the molding is attached to the grille body via the attachment portion and a form without such a molding. The attachment portion of the front grille is arranged behind the front surface of each lateral fin and configured by an engagement portion. A claw portion, which projects from a rear portion of the molding, is inserted into and engaged with the engagement portion.

A vehicular decorative member is curved as a forward-bulging shape, and includes a transparent base, a transferred layer, a metallic layer, and a base layer. The transparent base includes a front face, and a rear face. The transparent base's rear face has an ordinary section, and a recessed section. The transferred layer, the metallic layer, and the base layer are disposed on the transparent base's rear-face side in this order. The vehicular decorative member further includes a transfer sheet turning into the transferred layer. The transfer sheet includes a support film, and an adhesive layer, a decorative layer and a release layer that are formed on the support film in this order. The transfer sheet makes the transferred layer when the support film is removed from the release layer after pressing the transfer sheet onto the transparent base's ordinary section while heating the transfer sheet.

The present invention provides a radio wave transmission cover, which is provided in front of a radar device for vehicles, and a method of manufacturing the radio wave transmission cover. In the radio wave transmission cover, cover-side wall surfaces () are formed in a second cover layer () at positions adjacent to each other. Furthermore, substrate-side wall surfaces (), which have shapes complementary to the cover-side wall surfaces (), are formed in a substrate layer (), which is provided on the rear surface of the second cover layer (). The cover-side wall surfaces () and the corresponding substrate-side wall surfaces () are engaged to each other.

Radio wave transmission cover and method of manufacturing the same

A mold for integrally molding a cover and a pad on a steering wheel. The mold includes a first mold and a second mold relatively movable to the first mold. The first and second molds are separated from each other to place a metal core between the first and second molds. The first and second molds are then joined with each other to define a first cavity for molding the cover. Afterwards, the first and second molds are separated from each other to remove the metal core and the cover. A float core is located between the first and second molds. The float core cooperates with the first and second molds to define a second cavity for integrally molding the pad with the cover when the first and second molds are joined with each other. A pivoting mechanism pivots the float core to remove the steering wheel from the molds.
