A multilayered ceramic substrate is produced by laminating and sintering insulating ceramic layers and one or more dielectric ceramic layers. The insulating ceramic layer is composed of a BaO&mdash;Al O -SiO low temperature sintering ceramic material. The dielectric ceramic layer is composed of a dielectric ceramic material containing a dielectric ceramic component represented by BaO&mdash;TiO -(Nd Me )O wherein Me is a lanthanoid and 0&lE;m&lE;1.0, and a glass component of about 20.0 to 65.0 mole percent of barium oxide, about 5.0 to 50.0 mole percent of silicon oxide and about 10.0 to 50.0 mole percent of boron oxide.

Dielectric ceramic composition and multilayered ceramic substrate

A dielectric ceramic composition is formed of a mixture including a BaO--TiO.sub.2 --REO.sub.3/2 ceramic composition, wherein RE represents a rare earth element, and a glass composition containing about 13-50 wt. % SiO.sub.2, about 3-30 wt. % B.sub.2 O.sub.3, about 40-80 wt. % alkaline earth metal oxide and about 0.5-10 wt. % Li.sub.2 O. The dielectric ceramic composition has a high dielectric constant and a high Q value, as well as excellent temperature stability, and is capable of being sintered at a relatively low temperature. The dielectric ceramic composition is advantageously used in ceramic electronic parts.
