A non-halogenated flame retardant polyamide composition is disclosed which comprises a polyamide, a non-halogenated flame retardant, a PA-6 homopolymer, and at least one heat stabilizer comprising a copper-containing heat stabilizer, an amine-containing heat stabilizer, or a phenol-containing heat stabilizer. The polyamide may have a ratio of carboxylic acid to amine end groups of greater than 1.8:1. The polyamide composition may comprise less than 900 ppm of bromine. Products formed from the composition are also disclosed.

Non-halogenated flame retardant polyamide compositions

A non-halogenated flame retardant polyamide composition is disclosed which comprises a polyamide, a non-halogenated flame retardant, and a synergist. The polyamide may have a ratio of carboxylic acid to amine end groups of greater than 1.8. Products formed from the composition are also disclosed. The polyamide may comprise nylon 6,6.

The present disclosure relates to polyamide compositions and resulting injection-molded articles that can be plated, e.g., metal coated, to form aesthetic injection-molded articles. The polyamide compositions may include from 45 wt. % to 75 wt. % of an polyamide, from 2 wt. % to 40 wt. % of an etchable filler, from 10 wt. % to 40 wt. % of a semi-structural mineral, and optionally from 0.1 wt. % to 13 wt. % of additive. The polyamide composition imparts very good surface appearance to injection-molded articles that are substantially free of visual defects.

Polyamide compositions and plating applications thereof

The present disclosure relates to polyamide compositions and resulting injection-molded articles that can be plated, e.g., metal coated, to form structurally aesthetic injection-molded articles. The polyamide compositions may include from 40 wt. % to 80 wt. % of a polyamide, from 0.5 wt. % to 40 wt. % of an etchable filler, from 5 wt. % to 30 wt. % of glass fiber, optionally less than 40 wt. % of a semi-structural mineral, and optionally from 0.1 wt. % to 13 wt. % of additive. The polyamide composition imparts very good surface appearance and excellent mechanical properties to injection-molded articles that are substantially free of visual defects.

A tactile communication tool for transforming a user input command into an audio output signal is provided. The tool presents a user with a housing, a plurality of buttons, a sound processing unit with a speaker, and an overlay set with a plurality of tactually discernable non-Braille characters or tactually discernable non-Braille images embossed upon it. The plurality of tactually discernable non-Braille images characters or tactually discernable non-Braille images can be positioned over the plurality of buttons such that when one of the buttons is pressed by a user, the user input command is processed, and an audio output signal is generated. The tool could also be used for providing input to a computer system. The overlay set could also be a plurality of individual tactile overlay keys.

Tactile communication tool

The present invention relates to novel, halogen-free flame retardant derived from 9,10-Dihydro-9-Oxa-10-Phosphaphenantrene-10-oxide (DOPO). This invention also relates to the use of the halogen free DOPO derived flame retardant in polymers.

DOPO derivative flame retardants

Described are a particular group of novel aromatic hydrocarbon telomers that, on bromination, result in the formation of novel flame retardants having a uniquely beneficial combination of properties. The resultant flame retardants and uses thereof are also described.
