A surgical garment includes a head gear apparatus for supporting a face shield and shroud. The head gear apparatus includes a helmet that supports a fan assembly, and that defines forward and rear ventilation passageways. The upper edge of the face shield contacts the upper ledge, while the lower edge of the shield includes a tab that extends through the slot. The chin bar and face shield include a plurality of magnetic elements that magnetically connect the lower edge of the face shield to the chin bar. A medical instrument and procedure is adapted to mill bone along a curve and with respect to at least two angles of orientation with respect to an input source of rotary motion. Particularly, the medical instrument is a bone milling apparatus that is configured to mill bone along a predetermined curved path or curve. The bone milling apparatus includes a reamer that is rotatable about a curved shaft which is retained by a frame. The shaft has a predetermined curve that corresponds to a desired milling curve. The reamer is comprised of a plurality of interconnected segments, with each segment having cutting surfaces such that each segment is a cutter. The reamer is thus flexible with respect to the interconnection between the individual segments.

Medical instrument for milling a curved path in bone and procedure

A modular femoral prosthesis includes a stem member adapted to be implanted into a medullary canal of a femur. The stem member has a continuously tapered elongated bore and a threaded aperture defined therein. A first end of the elongated bore defines a post-receiving opening. The post-receiving opening is defined in a proximal end surface of the stem member. The elongated bore extends between the post-receiving opening and a threaded aperture. The femoral prosthesis also includes a neck member having a neck body, a head-receiving support member secured to the neck body so as to extend outwardly therefrom, and a tapered post secured to the neck body so as to extend outwardly therefrom. The tapered post is adapted to be received into the elongated bore of the stem member. A method of performing a joint replacement procedure by use of a modular prosthesis is also disclosed.
