Systems, methods, and non-transitory media are provided for cross-coupling modeling and compensation. An example method can include determining one or more cross-coupling coefficients representing electrical cross-coupling between a first signal path through a component and a second signal path through the component; based on the one or more cross-coupling coefficients, determining a first modified beamforming weight for a first signal associated with the first signal path through the component and a second modified beamforming weight for a second signal associated with the second signal path through the component, wherein the first and second modified beamforming weights compensate for the electrical cross-coupling between the first signal path through the component and the second signal path through the component; applying the first modified beamforming weight to the first signal associated with the first signal path; and applying the second modified beamforming weight to the second signal associated with the second signal path.

Cross-coupling modeling and compensation for antenna apparatus

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for hybrid beamforming. An example method can include determining a plurality of digital beamforming weights associated with a plurality of digital beamforming paths between digital beamformers and groups of analog beamforming circuits in a phased array antenna, each digital beamforming path being coupled to a group of analog beamforming circuits and each analog beamforming circuit being coupled to a respective set of antenna elements of the phased array antenna, and determining analog beamforming weights associated with the groups of analog beamforming circuits. The analog beamforming weights are estimated to put analog beamforming paths associated with the groups of analog beamforming circuits in a desired phase and gain relationship with each other. The method can include varying, based at least partly on the analog beamforming weights, a signal phase shift across the analog beamforming paths associated with the groups of analog beamforming circuits.

Systems and methods for beamforming in hybrid beamforming antennas

Technologies for provided for a radio frequency input/output (RFIO) combiner/splitter. An example combiner/splitter can include an RFIO circuit including a receive path including first and second low noise amplifiers (LNAs), first switches, resistors, and capacitors, each of the first switches being in series with a respective one of the first capacitors and first resistors; a transmit path including a first power amplifier (PA) including second switches coupled to second resistors and third switches coupled to third resistors, and a second PA including fourth switches coupled to fourth resistors and fifth switches coupled to fifth resistors, each of the second switches, the third switches, the fourth switches, and the fifth switches being in series with one or more respective ones of the second resistors, the third resistors, the fourth resistors, and the fifth resistors; and a balun that couples the Rx and Tx path to an RFIO terminal.

Compact radio frequency combiner

Systems, methods, and computer-readable media are provided for hybrid beamforming. An example method can include determining digital beamforming weights associated with a plurality of digital beamforming paths between digital beamformers and groups of analog beamforming circuits in a phased array antenna, each digital beamforming path being coupled to a group of analog beamforming circuits and each analog beamforming circuit being coupled to a respective set of antenna elements of the phased array antenna; determining analog beamforming weights associated with the groups of analog beamforming circuits, the analog beamforming weights comprising inverses of the digital beamforming weights; determining calibration offsets estimated to put analog beamforming paths associated with the groups of analog beamforming circuits in a desired phase and gain relationship to each other; and varying, based at least partly on the calibration offsets, a signal phase shift across the analog beamforming paths associated with the groups of analog beamforming circuits.

Systems, methods, and non-transitory media are provided for cross-coupling modeling and compensation. An example method can include determining one or more cross-coupling coefficients representing electrical cross-coupling within a component of a phased array antenna, wherein the component of the phased array antenna includes one or more signal paths between one or more beamformers of the phased array antenna and a set of antenna elements of the phased array antenna; based on the one or more cross-coupling coefficients, modifying one or more beamforming weights calculated for one or more signals routed via the one or more signal paths, wherein the modified one or more beamforming weights compensate for the electrical cross-coupling effect within the component of the phased array antenna; and applying, by the one or more beamformers, the modified one or more beamforming weights to the one or more signals routed via the one or more signal paths.

Techniques for utilization of antenna loading for impedance matching are described. In at least some embodiments, a device (e.g., a smart phone) includes multiple antennas that are employed to send and receive wireless signals for the device. The device further includes impedance matching functionality communicatively connected to the antennas, and configured to perform impedance matching for one of the antennas based on loading (e.g., dielectric loading) of another of the antennas.

A system and method for programming a remote control includes pressing keys to enter a programming mode. State changes are communicated from the remote to a set top box. A user selects a device to be controlled and instructions are communicated to a user. The set top box tracks signals received from the remote corresponding to a device code entered by the user into the remote. A program guides and informs the user of programming success or failure based on signals received by the set top box. The remote includes a transmitter and runs a program associating a particular device code with a particular electronic device. The set top box includes a receiver for receiving signals from the transmitter and runs a program providing an interface on a display. The interface guides the user through programming in response to signals received by the set top box from the remote.

Interactive remote control programming method

A set top boxincludes a communication modulereceiving a remote control configuration database having a remote control associated therewith. The set top boxfurther includes a display control moduleforming a screen display in response to the remote control configuration database. An interfaceforms selections in response to the screen display and a display control module displays programming instructions for the remote control.
