A method for processing the signals from two or more microphones in a listening device, and a listening device for conducting the method which has a casing holding the microphones, a signal processing unit which provides an output signal corresponding to the microphone signals and suited to the user's hearing, and a receiver unit for delivering the output signal to the user whereby the signals from the microphones are analyzed in order to detect when the casing of the listening device is being touched, whereby further the signal processing of the signal processing unit changes whenever touching of the casing is detected.

Method for processing the signals from two or more microphones in a listening device and listening device with plural microphones

This invention relates to a system () and method for matching one or more microphones. A first and second microphone () communicates, respectively, a first and second microphone signal to an amplitude compensating means () adjusting amplitude of the first microphone signal in accordance with amplitude of the second microphone signal. The amplitude compensating means () communicates an adjusted first microphone signal () and the second microphone signal () to a phase matching means () comprising a correction filter means () receiving the adjusted first microphone signal (). The correction filter means () comprises a low-pass filter means (), which is controlled in accordance with a subtraction between the first microphone signal output () and the second microphone signal (), and a high-pass filter means (), which is controlled in accordance with a comparison between the first microphone signal output () and the second microphone signal ().

System and method for matching microphones

The invention concerns a method for detecting and minimizing the harmful influence of ultra sound in a listening device having two or more microphones. The energy contents in the microphone signals is determined, and time related changes in energy contents of the microphone signals is analysed to determine whether any of the microphones is subjected to an ultrasound sound-field, and the signal from the microphone with the lowest content of ultrasound is routed through a signal processing device to an output unit. The invention further concerns a listening device having means for choosing the microphone channel with the lowest level of ultrasound.

Method for detection of ultrasound in a listening device with two or more microphones, and listening device with two or more microphones

A device for detecting the presence of wind noise in an array of microphones including two or more separate sound inlet openings, and a sound to electrical converting element or microphone in relation to each sound inlet opening. The microphones each generate time dependent signals which are fed to a signal processing device that provides one or more output signals. The signal processing device has means for generating a time dependent cross correlation function between a first and a second microphone signal, and means for generating a signal corresponding to a time dependent auto correlation function of either the first or the second of the microphone signals. Further, the signal processing device has means for comparing the values of the auto correlation function and the cross correlation function and the means for comparing are arranged to detect the condition that the auto correlation function is substantially higher than the cross correlation function, whereby the condition is indicative of the presence of wind noise.

Device and method for detecting wind noise

The invention concerns a hearing aid with at least one primary sound to electric converting transducer converting sounds in the environment into electrical signals and a signal processing unit for amplifying the electrical signal according to the needs of the user and an electrical to sound transducer for receiving the amplified electrical signal and delivering a sound signal to the ear wherein at least one further sound to electrical transducer is provided. The said further transducer has a sensitivity to wind noise which is smaller than the sensitivity to wind noise of the primary transducer and further the signal processing unit has means for detecting the level of wind noise in the signal from the primary sound to electric converting transducer. According to the invention also selecting means are provided for selecting the signal to be amplified from either the primary&#x2014;or the at least one further sound to electrical transducer.
