Anti-microbial compositions comprising (a) a quaternary ammonium compound and (b) a cationic biocide. Applicant has discovered a synergistic combination of the two components with the ration of cationic biocide to quaternary ammonium being less than 1:10 or with a single quaternary compound in a ratio of less than 1.6 to 1 provide a film forming coating that has residual anti-bacterial activity and improved durability with strong resistance to general wear between applications.

The present invention relates to quaternary ammonium disinfecting cleaning compositions comprising a quaternary ammonium compound, an alkyl a polyglycoside with a CMC greater than 1000 ppm and a chelant. Beneficially, the compositions provide residual sanitizing efficacy without diminished performance and without scale formation when diluted with hard water. The compositions are suitable for inactivating and/or reducing infectious agents, particularly Norovirus, Adenovirus, and Polyomavirus.

Non-streaking durable composition for cleaning and disinfecting hard surfaces

Disclosed are compositions including up to 20 wt % of a paraffin inhibiting polymer and one or more non-polymeric glycol ether compounds, wherein the compositions are stable and flow at a temperature between about 0&#xb0; C. and &#x2212;40&#xb0; C., in many cases between about &#x2212;20&#xb0; C. and &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. The glycol ether compounds are non-polymeric, are liquids at 20&#xb0; C. (1 atm) and have boiling points over 100&#xb0; C., in many cases over 200&#xb0; C. The compositions are useful paraffin inhibitor concentrates for use in the petroleum industry wherein the concentrates are stable, pumpable, and pourable at temperatures as low as &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. and as high as 60&#xb0; C.

Temperature-stable paraffin inhibitor compositions

Disclosed are inhibitor/cleaner compositions comprising alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates, and methods of inhibiting corrosion of and removing schmoo from metal containments in contact with corrosive water sources. Also disclosed are metal containment assemblages comprising inhibitor/cleaner compositions and metal containment therefore. The alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates are soluble or substantially soluble in the water sources and inhibit corrosion of the metal containments by the water sources containing corrodents. The alkyldiphenyloxide disulfonates also remove schmoo from the metal containments. The inhibitor/cleaners of the invention are useful for addition to produced waters and other corrosive water sources resulting from enhanced oil recovery operations. The inhibitor/cleaners inhibit corrosion of tanks, devices, and other metal containments such as carbon steel pipes which come into contact with produced waters from the oil recovery operations, while also providing schmoo reduction and removal from the metal containments. The inhibitor cleaners are also useful for addition to other corrosive aqueous fluids to inhibit corrosion of metal containments with which the aqueous fluids come into contact, such as corrosive aqueous discharge from mines and other industrial operations such as paper-making.

Corrosion inhibitor compositions and methods of using same

A containment for crude oil that inhibits paraffin deposition thereon is described. One to twenty coatings of a composition including a polyacrylate are applied to a crude oil contact surface of a crude oil containment; the polyacrylate includes at least about 50 mole % acrylic acid residues or the conjugate base thereof. The coating compositions are suitably delivered from a water dispersion, solution, or emulsion and dried before applying a subsequent coating. Each of the one to twenty coatings are formed from the same or from different polyacrylate coating compositions. The coated containment surfaces inhibit deposition of at least 10 wt % and as much as 90 wt % of paraffin solids from a crude oil compared to the same crude oil contact in the absence of the one to twenty coatings. The coatings inhibit paraffin deposition at temperatures between about 60&#xb0; C. and &#x2212;40&#xb0; C.

Paraffin deposition inhibitor coatings

Disclosed are compositions including up to 20 wt % of a paraffin inhibiting polymer and a non-polymeric ester compound, wherein the compositions flow at a temperature between about 0&#xb0; C. and &#x2212;40&#xb0; C., or between about &#x2212;20&#xb0; C. and &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. The non-polymeric ester compounds are liquids at 20&#xb0; C. and atmospheric pressure, and have boiling points over 100&#xb0; C., in many cases over 200&#xb0; C. The compositions are useful to inhibit paraffin deposition during petroleum recovery, refining, storing, and transporting under field conditions, wherein the concentrates are pumpable and pourable, do not precipitate, and do not exhibit high pressure buildup inside enclosed containers at temperatures as low as &#x2212;40&#xb0; C. and as high as 60&#xb0; C.

A cleaning composition is provided including an alkalinity source, builder, surfactant, water, a reducing agent and amylase in the ratio of from about 1:1 to about 1:3 wherein the total amount of amylase in the composition is equal to or less than about 1.0 weight percent; and wherein the composition is substantially free of polyols, alkanolamine, phosphates, and boric acid. A method of presoaking soiled substrates is further provided. The method including the steps of providing presoak solution to a soiled substrate at a temperature of between about 65.5&#xb0; C. up to about 80&#xb0; C., the presoak solution including the provided composition; draining the presoak solution from the substrate; providing a detergent to a soiled substrate including the composition of the present invention; and removing or draining the detergent; and rinsing the substrate with water.

According to the invention, the compositions and methods provide for the complete removal of synthetic glues or adhesives from a plurality of surfaces through the use of amide solvents in combination with surfactants, chelants, acidulants and/or additional bottle wash additives. Beneficially, the compositions and methods are suitable for use at lower temperatures, including below 35&#xb0; C., and lower pH conditions, including from 5 to 10, from 6 to 9, and from 6 to 8, in comparison to conventional caustic-based adhesive removal compositions.
