Systems and methods for video processing and display are provided. In one aspect, a workstation is configured to determine a position of a remotely controlled vehicle when an image of the surroundings of the vehicle was captured, and to transform the image into a transformed image based on an estimated real-time position of the vehicle. In another aspect, a workstation is configured to identify an image captured prior to the time a remotely controlled vehicle changed its configuration. The workstation estimates a real-time position of the vehicle, and transforms the identified image into a transformed image based on the estimated real-time position of the vehicle, such that the transformed image represents at least a portion of a view of the surroundings of the vehicle at the estimated real-time position after the vehicle changed its configuration.

System and method for video processing and presentation

A video conferencing device for improving video quality when a communications device is used for a video conference. In one embodiment the device includes (1) a data collection module for collecting data regarding the location and orientation of a user's face relative to a camera on a communications device; and (2) a facial correction module associated with the data collection module, the facial correction module modifying a user's facial orientation and characteristics for transmission during a video conference based on data from the data collection module and from an associated database of relevant facial characteristics.

The low-latency video may be created by modeling a select portion of original video data and comparing a current frame of the model against previous frames of the model in order to estimate the select portions of the original video data. The estimated, select portions of the original video data may be combined with a remainder of the original video data (such as background images) in order to produce the low-latency video. Model data and the original video data can be transmitted over the network using different paths in order to ensure that the model data is transmitted as quickly as possible, thereby allowing enough time for a morpher to process the model data before combining the model with the original video data.

Method of improved three dimensional display technique

Technology which facilitates a reduction in time of the presentation of video content after a viewer changes channels is described. Frames of a video stream associated with a channel are analyzed to identify locations of access points in the video stream prior to relaying the video stream to a presentation device. Information indicating the locations of access points is stored. The video stream is then time shifted on a continuous basis and is transmitted to the presentation device which made the request for as long as the presentation device remains tuned to the channel corresponding to the request. A first available frame on or before an access point of the time shifted video stream is selected based on the stored information, which is used to commence the transmission of the time shifted video to the presentation device, which facilitates a more immediate presentation of video content.

Reducing channel change delays

An apparatus, a method of videoconferencing and a videoconferencing system are disclosed herein. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes: (1) a monitor configured to switch between a display mode and a reflecting mode and (2) a camera located in front of the monitor, the camera positioned to face the monitor and synchronized with the monitor to capture a local image reflected therefrom during the reflecting mode.

The present invention provides a method of splicing data streams flowing between an encoder and a decoder. The method includes accessing a first encoded data stream. The first encoded data stream is encoded by the encoder based upon a first buffer size associated with the decoder. The method also includes delaying the first encoded data stream by an offset determined based on a second buffer size associated with the decoder. The second buffer size is larger than the first buffer size. The method further includes splicing one or more second encoded data stream(s) into the delayed first encoded data stream.

The current device will enable the plant owner to protect a plant during the winter months from the extreme cold and at the same time protect the plant from birds and insects during the summer months. This device can be easily opened to cover the plant and can also be easily collapsed when it is no longer needed. At least two different types of material can be used: one of colder weather and one for warmer weather. Different choices of material may be used depending on the particular environment. The device will be lightweight and extremely portable.

An apparatus and method for deinterlacing video images with improved slope detection is described. In one exemplary implementation, the apparatus includes an input buffer, a processor, and an output buffer. The input buffer is configured to receive a video stream in an interlaced format. The processor is configured to convert the video stream from the interlaced format to a progressive format. This conversion process includes calculating the slope for a diagonal line of an image at a pixel to-be-interpolated (i.e., at a missing pixel) using a slope protection operation to increase the accuracy of the slope calculation. The output buffer is then configured to transmit the video stream in the progressive format.
