A window insertable pet door devised for removable installation in a window without tools and without altering the window by including a center frame having a U-shaped bracket on a top side thereof and a pair of side panels that slidingly extend from the center frame to engage a bottom railing and a respective one of a right railing and a left railing of a window frame. Each side panel includes an outer trim and a static barrier wall therewithin formed of a plurality of vertical popoid pleats. An annular door frame is centrally disposed in the center frame, with a gasket being disposed between the door frame and the center frame. A plurality of pliable triangular flaps, radially disposed within the door frame, converge at a center point of the door frame to simultaneously fold inwardly and outwardly for passage of a cat therethrough.

A new and improved low power GPS signal receiver system includes a GPS signal receiver device and control processor for powering up the signal receiver device for a first sufficient period of time to locate and acquire a time signal from a single GPS satellite and then powering down the GPS signal receiver device after establishing a local time and for waiting another sufficient period of time after receiving a user request to update time before powering up the signal receiver device to facilitate about an immediate sync on another GPS navigation message subframe indicative of the time maintained by said single GPS satellite vehicle. Once the second sufficient period of time has elapsed, the control processor powers up the GPS signal receiver device for a third sufficient period of time to acquire and process 29 bits of subframe message information indicative of time maintained by the GPS satellite vehicle. Once the time maintained by such a single GPS satellite vehicle has been obtained and processed, the control processor powers downs the GPS signal receiver device to a low power standby mode to wait for another user request to update time.

Low power GPS receiver system and method of using same

There is disclosed a portable free drifting oceanographic instrument package for cyclically collecting oceanic and/or fresh water environmental data over a range of depths. The instrument includes, in combination, a submersible housing having mounted thereto (1) a sensor suite for collecting selected environmental data relating to a surrounding medium, (2) a data storage resource for storing environmental data sensed by the sensor suite, (3) a dive control system for controllable positioning the apparatus to a selected depth, (4) a data communications system for facilitating full duplex communication between the apparatus and a remote communications site, (5) a locating system for determining the position of the apparatus, (6) a rechargeable power system for providing operational power to the instrument package, (7) an energy collection system with no moving parts for collecting energy from the environment to recharge the power system, and (8) a system controller for controlling operations of the sensor suite, the data storage resource, the dive control system, the data communications system, the locating system, the rechargeable power system and said energy collection system.
