A process and hydrodeoxygenation catalyst for producing high-quality diesel and naphtha fuels from a feedstock that contains oxygen containing components derived from renewable organic material in which the hydrodeoxygenation catalyst is a supported Mo catalyst and in which the support has a bimodal porous structure. The hydrodeoxygenation catalyst has a Mo content of 0.1 to 20 wt %. The support is alumina, silica, titania or combinations thereof, and the support has a bimodal porous structure with pores with a diameter larger than 50 nm that constitute at least 2 vol % of the total pore volume.

Hydroconversion process and catalyst

A process for the hydrotreating of fuels with co-production of hydrogen during operation of the process, which enables i.e. reduced need of make-up hydrogen in the hydrotreating stage. The hydrocarbon fuel introduced to the hydrotreatment stage is a fuel containing renewable organic material which generates carbon monoxide during operation of the process. The carbon monoxide is then converted to hydrogen in the recycle loop by a water gas shift stage.

Hydrotreatment process

A process for preparation of a paraffin isomerization catalyst comprising a mixture of a Group IVB metal oxide, a Group VIB metal oxide, a Group IIIA metal oxide and a Group VIII metal. The process includes the steps of: a) contacting a hydroxide of the Group IVB metal with an aqueous solution of an oxyanion of the Group VIB metal to provide a mixture, (b) drying the mixture to provide a dry powder, (c) kneading the powder with a Group IIIA hydroxide gel and a polymeric cellulose ether compound to form a paste, (d) shaping the paste to form a shaped material, (e) calcining the shaped material to form a calcined material, (f) impregnating the calcined material with an aqueous solution of a Group VIII metal salt to provide the catalyst, and (g) calcining the catalyst.

Process for the removal of coloured compounds in a hydrocarbon feedstock comprising the steps of hydrotreating the feedstock in presence of a first hydrotreating catalyst under conditions being effective in hydrogenation of hydrogenable compounds being present in the feedstock and hydrotreating an effluent from the first hydrotreating step in a second catalytic hydrotreating step being carried out in a second hydrotreating reactor at hydrotreating conditions, wherein the effluent from the first hydrotreating step is separated into a gas phase and a mixed gas and liquid phase prior to the second hydrotreating step, and the mixed phase is hydrotreated in the second hydrotreating step without further addition of hydrogen.
