A channel graphical user interface (GUI) of a content sharing platform is provided for presentation to a channel owner. A request is received, via the channel GUI, to enable an online community option that (i) facilitates an online conversation between the channel owner and a subset of viewers of the channel of the channel owner on the content sharing platform, and (ii) allows the channel owner to control viewer responses that are permitted during the online conversation. In response to the request of the channel owner to enable the online community option, the online community option is associated with the channel in a data store, and the channel GUI is modified, the modified channel GUI presenting an online community GUI element representing the online community option. Upon a selection of the online community GUI element representing the online community option by the channel owner, a post creation GUI is provided to allow the channel owner to submit a post to initiate the online conversation between the subset of viewers and the channel owner. In response to a selection of the GUI element representing the online community option by a viewer of the channel in the channel GUI, providing the online community GUI comprising a title and/or a content of the post of the channel owner, and allowing the viewer of the channel to provide a permissible viewer response to the post of the channel owner.

Online engagement platform for video creators

A channel graphical user interface (GUI) of a content sharing platform is provided for presentation to a channel owner. In response to a selection of the GUI element representing the online community option by a viewer of the channel in the channel GUI, providing the online community GUI comprising a title and a body of the post of the channel owner, and allowing the viewer of the channel to provide a permissible viewer response to the post of the channel owner.

An indication of a content item being provided to a content item platform may be received. Users associated with the content item platform may be identified and a plurality of classifications may be received. A first portion of the users associated with a first classification and a second portion of the users associated with a second classification may be identified. Notifications identifying the content item may be sent to the first portion of the users. A determination may be made as to whether an amount of time that has elapsed since the notifications have been sent to the first portion of the users satisfies a threshold amount of time. Responsive to determining that the amount of time that has elapsed satisfies the threshold amount of time, the notifications identifying the content item may be sent to the second portion of the users associated with the second classification.

Staggered notification by affinity to promote positive discussion

A request of a channel owner is received to enable an online community option to facilitate communications between the channel owner and viewers of a channel of the channel owner on a content sharing platform. The online community option is associated with the channel in a data store, and a channel GUI comprising a GUI element representing the online community option is provided for presentation to the channel owner. An online community GUI is provided to allow the channel owner to submit a post to initiate online conversation with viewers of the channel. The channel GUI is provided for presentation to a viewer of the channel. In response to a selection of the GUI element representing the online community option, the online community GUI comprising the post of the channel owner is provided, and the viewer of the channel is allowed to respond to the post.

An indication of a content item being provided to a channel of a content item sharing platform may be received. Users associated with the channel of the content item sharing platform may be identified. Classifications of feedback of the users that are based on evaluations of the feedback from the plurality of users for other content items on the content item sharing platform may be received. A first portion of the plurality of users associated with a first classification indicating a higher rating than a second portion of the plurality of users associated with a second classification indicating a lower rating may be identified. Notifications identifying the content item may be sent to the first portion of the plurality of users associated with the first classification indicating the higher rating before the second portion associated with the second classification indicating the lower rating.
