A linear motor includes a coil unit, and a movement unit including a magnetic planar body facing against the coil unit, wherein a changeable clearance .delta. is formed between the magnetic planar body and a plurality of lamination core protrusions in the coil unit, and a nonmagnetic planar body attached onto an upper surface of the magnetic planar body. The linear motor enables a speed control without an electrical current in its applied system such as an elevator, thereby excluding an additional current control system.

An improved rotor construction of a cylindrical linear motor capable of more correctly adjusting locations of the core groups and coils of the rotor and correctly affixing the core groups and the coils thereof using support plates which includes a plurality of core groups, disposed at a predetermined angle from each other and each having a plurality of teeth and a plurality of grooves formed therein; a plurality of disk type coils respectively inserted into the grooves; support plates disposed between the core groups; a first motor cover affixed at one end of the core groups and a second motor cover affixed at the other end of the core groups.

A rail brake apparatus for a linear motor elevator includes mating magnetic cores with coils and spring, brake arms connected with magnetic cores and pivotally engaged with a shaft, linings disposed at both ends of the brake arms for braking a guide rail, thereby reducing the weight of the magnetic units, balancing both magnets in its weight, and obtaining the same pulling force in both magnetic cores. In addition, it further includes a gap maintaining apparatus for maintaining a predetermined gap the upper and the lower magnetic cores, thereby reducing an impact noise occurred during pulling each other and preventing friction due to the slip of the lining, so that the car of the elevator can precisely stop at a desired location.

An air gap adjusting apparatus for a cylindrical linear motor of an elevator includes a cylindrical upper plate having an internally threaded portion at an inner edge thereof and fixedly mounted on the upper portion of the rotor, a plurality of adjusting units pivotably mounted on the plate member, for adjusting an air gap between an inner surface of the rotor and the outer surface of the stator, and an inverted cone-shaped hollow tapered guide member having a threaded lower portion engaging the plate member and displacing the plurality of adjusting units for thereby adjusting an air gap between an inner surface of the rotor and the outer surface of the stator.

Air gap adjusting apparatus for cylindrical linear motor of an elevator

A mover vibration absorbing device for a linear motor elevator is described. The device includes top and bottom frames provided on top and bottom of a counter support unit respectively. A plurality of top steel plates are coupled to flanges of the top and bottom frames respectively. Top and bottom support members are provided on top and bottom surfaces of a hollow cylindrical mover of the linear motor respectively. A plurality of bottom steel plates are coupled to flanges of the top and bottom support members respectively. Top and bottom vibration absorbing rubbers each are interposed between an associated top steel plate and an associated bottom steel plate. Bolts and nuts are adapted for fixing the top steel plates to the flanges of the top and bottom frames and for fixing the bottom steel plates to the flanges of the top and bottom support members.

Mover vibration absorbing device for linear motor elevator

A linear motor supporting apparatus for a linear motor elevator capable of greatly dampening a load from a stator when a relative displacement of the stator and guide rails occur, includes a linear motor including a rotor and a stator; a tensile force adjusting device, disposed below the stator, for adjusting a tensile force upon the stator; and a stator displacement adjusting device, disposed between the tensile force adjusting device and a supporting frame, for greatly reducing a load upon the stator by moving the stator by as much as a relative displacement between the stator and the rotor.
