A novel imaging material comprising a substrate; a lead layer thereon including at least 20% by weight of lead and having a substantially dome shaped grain structure; and a stabilizing layer formed on said lead layer and comprising a specific metallic element or an organic polymer. The imaging material has a gradation, an excellent resolution and an improved storage stability. The imaging material can form an image thereon by a dry process even in a light room without the conventional development step.

A novel dispersion imaging material comprising a substrate, a sublayer thereon comprising at least 70% by weight of a member selected from palladium, gold, germanium and combinations thereof and having a thickness of 5 A to 200 A, and a main imaging layer on said sublayer comprising at least 50% by weight of tin, and optionally as the outermost layer a protective layer comprising an organic polymer. The sublayer modifies the layer structure of the tin-based main imaging layer. The imaging material has a high safety in respect of toxicity as well as an excellent gradation and a high sensitivity. The imaging material can form thereon an image by a dry process even in a light room without the conventional development and fixation steps.

An epoxy resin composition comprising an epoxy compound having an average of one or more epoxy groups per molecule, an amine curing agent and a reductive metal compound or complex can produce excellent developed color images, and concave-convex images by energy irradiation. A pattern of a character, numeral or symbol on an optical mask is selected in accordance with the designation by a character designator and irradiated with light from a printing light source. The light is converted into a light of the pattern of the designated character, numeral or symbol by a optical mask, the pattern being of a size ranging from about 20 to about 500 .mu.m, and the converted light reaches a thin layer of a dispersion imaging material formed on a recording medium to cause at least dispersion of the thin layer, thereby to print the pattern of the designated character, numeral or symbol. A recording medium support and the position of irradiation of the recording medium with the converted light are moved by a drive relative to each other, so that characters, numerals and symbols can be printed on the recording medium one by one. The characters, numerals and symbols printed on the recording medium in the region including the recording medium irradiating position are optically displayed by a projector during the printing operation.

A thermosetting powder coating composition having good handling characteristics and capable of being baked under relatively mild conditions and providing a coating having practically satisfactory properties. This coating composition is prepared by incorporating in 100 parts by weight of an epoxy group-containing acrylic or methacrylic copolymer having a glass transition point of 30.degree. to 90.degree. C. and a weight average molecular weight of 2,500 to 30,000, said copolymer consisting of 3 to 35% by weight of acrylate or methacrylate monomer units and 97 to 65% by weight of ethylenically unsaturated monomer units, 3 to 40 parts by weight of a specific diphenol having at its both terminals hydroxybenzoic acid ester structures as represented by the general formula: ##STR1## wherein R.sub.3 stands for a hydrocarbon radical having 2 to 20 carbon atoms or a linking group containing, at least at its both terminals, hydrocarbon radicals and in its main chain at least one member selected from the group consisting of an ether linkage, ester linkage, urethane linkage and amide linkage, and having totally 4 to 20 carbon atoms. Especially good results are obtained when a specific phenol compound containing in the molecule one phenolic hydroxyl group and either one carboxyl group or one hydroxyl group, or a specific benzoic acid compound containing in the molecule two carboxylic acid groups are further incorporated in this powder coating composition.
