The position of a principal image within a frame is designated manually or in association with the operation of the automatic focussing mechanism. The position information of the principal image is recorded on a photographic film when a subject is photographed. In obtaining a photoprint, the position information is read from the frame to be printed, and the principal image within the frame is identified. A characteristic value used for calculating an exposure amount is derived from the identified principal image, so as to execute an exposure control emphasizing the principal image.

A rinsing water supply system for supplying water to a rinsing unit of a developing apparatus in which photosensitive materials are processed and rinsed. The water supply system includes a pipe having a water supply passage through which water is introduced into the rinsing unit from a water source, a solenoid valve for opening and closing the water supply passage, and signal lines arranged along and integrally with the pipe and adapted for transmitting signals for operating the solenoid valve. This arrangement eliminates the necessity for installation of a signal transmission line independently from the water supply passage, for the purpose of transmitting signals for operating the solenoid valve.

A photosensitive material magazine for accommodating a photosensitive material, having an information detecting unit for detecting information for setting exposure condition. The information includes at least a type of photosensitive material and set at an end of the accommodated material and in one of reader members disposed continually from the end thereof, and an output unit for detecting the detected information. The photosensitive material accommodated therein can be specified on the part of a photoprinting device, loaded with a magazine, for printing the material.

Disclosed is a collating device for collating the images on a photographic film with those printed on a printing paper from the photographic film while conveying the film and the printing paper. The collating device includes a reading device for reading a frame number for identifying the frame image on the film, and a printing device for printing the frame number which has been read by the reading device on the printing paper on which has been printed the image on the film which corresponds to that frame member. The frame numbers of the film are printed on the printing paper on which have been printed the images on the film. In consequence, the print images on the printing paper are easily made to correspond to the corresponding frame images on the film, and designation of the frames is facilitated.

A color film analyzing method and apparatus which displays image data of frames of the film as positive images provided by a TV camera, and a plurality of reference images previously provided and stored in a recording member, in a matrix pattern on an image display device. When one of the color images of the picture frames is specified, the image line of the matrix including the specified image is shifted so that the specified image is adjacent to the reference image line on the image display device and a cursor image is displayed overlapping a portion of the specified image. The cursor image is provided as a reversed image of the part of the specified image where the specified image is overlapped by the cursor image. If the reversed image has a color identical or similar to the portion of the specified image surrounding the cursor image, the cursor image is colored differently. Any images, when specified, may be magnified and displayed at the center of the image display device, and the remaining images may be eliminated.

Color film analyzing method and apparatus

Video images of each frame of a roll of film are stored in a first memory when printing the frames on a photographic material. Thereafter, the images are read out from the first memory for image processing and written in a designated area of a second memory. Video signals for a number N of frames are written in memory area of the second memory designated for the respective frames to provide composite video signals and then are read out to be printed as a composite image on a photographic material as an index print. When printing each frame of the roll of film, a first mirror is removably inserted into a printing path to project an image of the frame to a TV camera in order to provide three color video signals. Video signals for several frames are electrically composed to provide composite video signals which are printed as a single composed image having reduced images inlaid in a matrix on a photographic paper.

Photographic printing method and apparatus therefor

A booklet, such as a passport, for providing the identity of the holder thereof, with a picture of the face and personal data of the bookholder, includes transparent and supporting sheets bound in the booklet separately from and adjacent to each other. Furthermore, an image receiving layer is formed on one surface of one of the separate transparent and supporting sheets and an optically readable data printing section is provided on either one of the transparent and supporting sheets where optically readable personal data of said booklet holder is printed. Also, an adhesive layer is provided for adhering the transparent and supporting sheets together to sandwich the image receiving layer therebetween after having formed a composite image of the picture and personal data in the image receiving layer.

A developing apparatus provided with a circulation apparatus comprising an apparatus for discharging a processing solution for photosensitive material contained in a developing tank, and an apparatus for supplying the discharged processing solution to inside the developing tank. The supply apparatus is made up of a first processing solution supply apparatus that supplies a part of the discharged processing solution to the developing tank through a first apparatus for adjusting a supply amount of the processing solution, and a second processing solution supply apparatus with a processing solution guiding apparatus that flushes a part of the discharged processing solution onto the surface of the photosensitive material while being conveyed inside the developing tank, through a second valve apparatus for adjusting a supply amount of the processing solution. The first and second valve apparatus are controlled so that immediately after changing all the processing solution in the developing tank, and after supplying of a predetermined amount of replenishment solution, the ratio of the circulation amount of the first processing solution supply apparatus to the second processing solution supply apparatus is changed. As a result the operating conditions such as processing speed etc. can be constant and the degree of progress of development of the photosensitive material is controlled. Consequently a stabilized contrast of the photosensitive material can be obtained from immediately after replacing the processing solution with new processing solution.

An apparatus for making a color print has a black-and-white CRT for frame-sequentially displaying black-and-white images of three monochromatic images of an image in the form of a brightness pattern thereon, color filters for sequentially changing the black-and-white images to corresponding monochromatic images, a printing lens for projecting each monochromatic image onto a photographic material, and means for changing image size by color through which each monochromatic image is projected on the photographic material by the printing lens, so as to make the three monochromatic images projected onto the photographic material the same size. In the case of the printing lens having a fixed focal length, the image size changing means comprises an amplifier for amplifying vertical and horizontal deflection signals for driving the CRT and means for changing a gain of the amplifier for every exposure of each monochromatic image, so as to make the three monochromatic images projected onto the photographic material the same size. On the other hand, in the case of the printing lens being variable in focal length, the image size changing means comprises memory means for storing magnifications by color for several specific focal lengths of the zoom printing lens and means for adjusting the focal length of the zoom printing lens according to the magnifications stored in the memory means, so as to make the three monochromatic images projected onto the photographic material the same size.

An original film is provided with main numbers and sub numbers which are alternately located at intervals equivalent to the length of one half-size frame image, as well as bar codes which represent the main numbers and the sub numbers. Since the frame images on the original film can be specified by reading with a reading means the main numbers and/or the sub numbers located at the sides of the frame images to be printed onto the printing paper, the main numbers and/or the sub numbers are provided on the printing paper so as to identify the frame images on the original film.

A personal booklet with a picture and personal data of the bookholder, such as a passport for providing the bookholder's identity, comprises transparent and supporting sheets bound in the booklet separately from and adjacent to each other, and an identification data bearing sheet with an image receiving layer formed on a surface thereon. The image receiving layer includes a composite image of the picture and the personal data, and optically readable personal data of the bookholder described by optically readable characters such as font type numbers and/or alphabets. The transparent sheet and the supporting sheet are adhered with adhesive layers to sandwich the identification data bearing sheet therebetween.

A photographic printing tape puncher for recording, on a paper tape, information on exposure correction for each of image frames formed on an original picture film before the film is used to perform printing. A frame number reading means reads bar codes which represent frame numbers and which are recorded on a part of the original picture film. The information thereby read is recorded on the paper tape along with items of information on exposure correction for the corresponding image frames. The items of exposure correction information and the frame numbers relating to the image frames are recorded on the paper tape constantly in correspondence with each other. It is therefore possible to easily obtain desired exposure correction information by searching a corresponding image frame number on the paper tape.
